You had me nodding at the title!

My father so loved to distraction that which would drive a dietitian nuts ... greasy fried eggs, half and half on the cereal, etc. Lots of it! This may sound odd, but my mother once rationalized that it was good he passed suddenly; if he had to give up his favorite foods and cigars he would have truly been miserable.

Ya, moderation is the key, perhaps ... but darn if my dad didn't relish every moment of his 69 years!

PS - I'm going to be so cross if I get to 90 and hear the Surgeon General has contradicted himself: that nicotine is actually good for you! :)

Mevely317https://www.blogger.com/profile/14786988262452989091noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3874656382203957840.post-13934897279737999282015-09-24T22:15:20.400-04:002015-09-24T22:15:20.400-04:00Watching the news is bad for you :)Watching the news is bad for you :)Rick Watsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01005727239466916086noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3874656382203957840.post-65681429665549839232015-09-24T19:37:19.388-04:002015-09-24T19:37:19.388-04:00lol..I enjoying reading your blog .it's crazy ...lol..I enjoying reading your blog .it's crazy the different 'good' for ya products they push on us!I like you enjoyed cigs, I miss them and trying to supplement breathing methods is so bogus; I love the nicotine! lolCindihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07279542410975333815noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3874656382203957840.post-84900679228504135952015-09-24T18:59:22.230-04:002015-09-24T18:59:22.230-04:00Not only do you have to watch what you eat, now we...Not only do you have to watch what you eat, now we are not safe
driving our cars. One day coffee, wine or chocolate is good for you and the next its bad. Then I think back to some older folks I've known that lived to be in their 80s and 90's. They lived off Whisky, Fried Chicken, and Cigarettes. I've learned not to believe everything I hear. I think its that some bodies react to foods different than others.

Do what works for you.
LisaLisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03109633602729593188noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3874656382203957840.post-43445742708127117052015-09-24T12:44:47.982-04:002015-09-24T12:44:47.982-04:00Your blog makes me smile; that never goes out of s...Your blog makes me smile; that never goes out of style. I've been taking Niacin for several years on the advice of a nurse practioner. Now I read it doesn't do a thing for me.Paulahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04007728342316668058noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3874656382203957840.post-32651931911197055262015-09-24T09:17:22.379-04:002015-09-24T09:17:22.379-04:00I would think that washing a surgical wound with a...I would think that washing a surgical wound with antibacterial soap would be a case of using antibacterial soap in moderation. In other words, it would be a short-term use, with its advantages of preventing infection offsetting the disadvantages which would be more likely to occur with long-term use or unnecessary use.
That's my two cents' worth. Just trying to make you feel better about it. I'm with you in thinking that moderation is the key. I'm not always moderate either, but try. I don't watch the news much at all anymore and find less and less to watch on TV. I'd rather be sitting on the porch watching the leaves fall one by one. We sometimes have trouble defining it, but it really is the best overall. The studies keep contradicting themselves; sometimes this is okay, sometimes it is not. So just eating and living sensibly seems to be the way to go.

bettybettyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06323135450742337670noreply@blogger.com
