What a wonderful memory to have. Times have changed and not for the better. We watch old Westerns and we have dozens of DVDs that we watch. The commercials are overwhelming and the Big PHarma ones are the worst next to the Medicare, I am entitled! UGH no you earned it if you worked for it. THat Joe Namath and actor who said DYN-O-MITE back in the old days do those commercials. I find them truly offensive. Many years ago Jeff Foxworthy did a comedy routine about TV commercials and the horrible side effects! He was hilarious but truthful. The side effects will kill you! It is mind numbing. Then commercials come on saying we have an opiode problem in America! Really?? My dad would say when I was an old woman I would be the world be backward. I am grateful my folks are not here to witness this destruction. Even the cartoon channel with Tom & Jerry have the horrible Big PHarma commercials. Very sad indeed. If my mom were here she'd say the world is hard, pray harder. I hope you have a wonderufl week.My Tata's Cottagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03316406149678154358noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3874656382203957840.post-29089396842019471572021-07-11T20:00:11.612-04:002021-07-11T20:00:11.612-04:00You and Jack Wiley make an adorable picture...a Go...You and Jack Wiley make an adorable picture...a God Wink moment. As for ads and tv, I watch very little of it. The guide sure doesn't offer much for tasteful entertainment. I used to laugh at my good ol'neighbor when he'd say, 'What's the world coming to?' but now I see he was so right. If he were still alive today, he'd be appalled. It's a sad state the world is in, especially for our youth. Unless they'd been raised with Christianity, I pray for them all.
loven'hugs from up north where the sun has been drying hay and growing gardens in full speed.Darhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16642092433299872708noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3874656382203957840.post-11985333322154450852021-07-10T14:08:19.471-04:002021-07-10T14:08:19.471-04:00I love this. With so many options for dating taken off the table, lots of teens went to corn fields and made out(heavy duty kissing), get pregnant. I sit with my book and read when they come on. They tempt us with all kinds of things that are probably sins. Thinking we should havae more and more of everything. But if we are wise we realize it's not things that make us hay but the people we love. (Well, most of them anyway.)
When they began advertising feminine hygiene products I was embarrassed; but now when they show two men kissing on network prime time, I'm disgusted. Like Lisa said, it's increasingly difficult to find something that doesn't glamorize sin. Sad, that this is our children's new normal.

PS - Love the picture of you and Jack Wiley!Mevely317https://www.blogger.com/profile/14786988262452989091noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3874656382203957840.post-88839317815753412932021-07-10T06:44:35.341-04:002021-07-10T06:44:35.341-04:00Wow Jack ... do not compare me to Billy Graham. Sadly many people on TV are intent on influencing vulnerable minds towards the negativity of life. They spread their message of doom, hate and despair; and they call it entertainment.

God bless you and yours.Victor S E Moubarakhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04280638667651857296noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3874656382203957840.post-42727918733838957222021-07-09T23:16:57.275-04:002021-07-09T23:16:57.275-04:00TV sure aint as simple as it used to be. I found it fascinating, even at my young age! Commercials sure have changed over the years, haven't they? I remember when every other commercial was one for cigarettes until they banned that advertising on TV and then later in magazines. Might be good to put the Weather Channel app on your phone and you could probably get updates about storms etc through them. Commercials seem to come up everywhere. You watch something on YouTube and halfway through it they run an ad. Oh well, I guess they have to make their money somewhere.

bettybettyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06323135450742337670noreply@blogger.com
