This is a Log as we travel to keep us in touch with the real world. We spent a lot of time in the real world now we love the space in the travel world. We live and love full time in our motor home. We tow a Honda CRV to scout around in. We have driven to Alaska and all the lower 48 states. We parked and took a side trip to Hawaii. After traveling in over 20 countries we are most proud of the 1900+ miles we hiked on the Appalachian Trail. Our plans are to travel as long as our health allows.

Beat into the ground today
Early interesting Cars:
Cadillac Pickup, very popular in Texas
But for today:
Yesterday was pretty rough one on me. I am repairing some ceiling damage in the home where granddaughter Reece lives. Also the roof had been doing a little leaking (Of course it has to do the damage to the ceiling! LOL)
This is a slow process. I cut out the very damaged drywall and have a patch in place. It will take two days to finish the job. But only about 30 minutes a day, the sheetrock mud takes a day to dry and it will take about 3 coats.
I also crawled (squeezed) under the house to check the plumbing and A/c.
A little too much for my old frame so I am beat. So for today, that is it.
Hope your day is good. Life is certainly good and maybe I will feel more in tuned with the world today…
Nite Shipslog

Did seem like you took on a little too much yesterday, Jack. Rest up today and get your strength back! Its Friday so its a good day here!

Your days do seem to get busier and busier for sure. Good thing you have to wait for stuff to dry out before you can continue. Leaking roofs can do a lot of damage. But most of the time we don't know about it until after the damage has been done. Take good care Jack.
ReplyDeletePlease, please, PLEASE rest up and take good care of yourself! Maybe a little extra Duke's on that 'mater sandwich?
ReplyDeleteWe tucker out quickly and have earned it....the resting in between, I mean. Do the same, REST. You sure you need to be the one doing the heavy work?
ReplyDeleteDanged if we don't get older every day. Take care now, and Sherry too. I'm glad, ( for you ) that this project is needing plenty of drying time.
love n' hugs from up north where we stained the last of the uprights in the decking, then took a rest watching lil sis and lil brother stain her deck.
Even resting can be hard work.
Agree with all the above comments, you do seem to be due for a good rest; maybe a weekend getaway while the mud dries? Take care of yourself old friend!!!
ReplyDeleteI have noticed here lately that when I wash the vehicles are clean the limbs and pine cones out of the yard I have to take a day or two to rest. I started hiring a guy to cut the grass. I guess age will do this to us.(smile) I've never tried crawling under the house to afraid that I would meet up with a snake, yes I've seen the dogs run some under there and not sure if they come back out. You and Sherry take care. Jean
ReplyDeleteMake yourself take a little rest.
ReplyDeleteI understand the "Resting" after doing inside or outside work, There is not much inside work living in an "Old Folks Home" when your not an 'Old Folk" ! I like my nap every day from 1 to 2PM !!! Good thing you have a Beautiful Smart Honey to Watch our for you like I do ! We are Lucky Men !!!! Take it easy !!!!! sending down love and hugs, Anna Mae and Gary
