This is a Log as we travel to keep us in touch with the real world. We spent a lot of time in the real world now we love the space in the travel world. We live and love full time in our motor home. We tow a Honda CRV to scout around in. We have driven to Alaska and all the lower 48 states. We parked and took a side trip to Hawaii. After traveling in over 20 countries we are most proud of the 1900+ miles we hiked on the Appalachian Trail. Our plans are to travel as long as our health allows.

We left weight in Florida
Trucks of Art
Now:
Sherry and I tried my magic soup for a few days the last week and a half we were in Florida. The first pot was tomato soup. I used a couple cans of tomatoes and a couple fresh tomatoes, onion, celery, carrots, a squirt of mustard, tsp basil, salt, pepper, vinegar, garlic and chicken broth. The second pot I added a half head of cabbage.
After 15 minutes in the pressure cooker it was done ( I wanted 8 minutes but couldn’t figure how to get that on the new electric pressure cooker). Then I ran it all thru the blender to give it the consistency of a thick ‘Campbell’s Tomato Soup’ (which I like also). Each pot lasted three days. For breakfast I had a couple eggs in the microwave and Sherry stuck with oats or cereal for breakfast.
Evenings I had a trail mix and nuts plus green tea. Sherry goes to bananas and peanut butter with chamomile hot tea.
I lost about 5-6 lbs and Sherry lost 4 - 5. We are gonna try it again here once we get settled. I was hoping for 10, but 5 ain’t bad. I had gained up to 161 and now back to 155. That soup is good. We love it.

Ps: I try to at least eat an orange or apple a day, I prefer an apple.
PS 2: TT asked if we were settling down. I hope for a while anyway. Just not sure how well it will work. ;-)
PS 3.. Chatty ... We have three homes to choose from to settle in. We just cannot decide which is the best choice. We have one with an RV port, if we settle, that will probably be our choice. We have this one, it is beside where we will build, so we will definitely stay here for abou 3 months. until the new house is finished. and sold.

I sure admire your discipline! My weakness isn't so much what I eat, but how much. E
ReplyDeleteThat's good that you left the weight in Florida. Make sure it stays there! I bet with it being spring and having projects to do, you'll probably get more exercise and that'll help drop the other pounds you want to lose. We're still maintaining our weight here.

Your home is behind the wheel.
ReplyDeleteI do love tomato soup and your recipe does sound good. Glad you are settled in for a while and I agree that staying where you have a place with an RV port is a good choice. Although you won't be traveling for awhile I'm sure it's going to be an adventure of another sort building a new home. I'm looking forward to hearing all about it.
ReplyDeleteSlim and trim Sherry, congratulations on the willpower to drop those lbs! Agree with Betty that your newest project will keep both of you on the move burning calories.
ReplyDeleteThanks for explaining. It makes it a little easier. Also that soup sounds interesting and very HEALTHY. So you both lost a couple pounds - that is awesome.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the weight loss! I think 155 is perfect! I'm gonna have to try making that tomato soup. My problem with soup is I will easily eat a whole pack of Saltines with it.
