It is rough being OLD!

The Great Grand Girl Elsie Mae, she likes to drive, it must be in the blood.
A day in the life of us Nomads. On an interstate. I think this is North bound toward Pittsburg.

Another day in the nomadic life. I love the view from our living room picture window, it continually changes. This was on the back roads of PA or New York near the Catskills.

Okaaaaaay this is today Sunday..... ..... ..... .... after church....

Will I Live to see 80? Here's something to think about. I recently picked a new primary care doctor. After two visits and exhaustive Lab tests, he said I was doing 'fairly well' for my age. (I just turned 70.) A little concerned about that comment, I couldn't resist asking him,

'Do you think I'll live to be 80?'

He asked, 'Do you smoke tobacco, or drink beer or wine?'
“Oh no,' I replied. 'I'm not doing drugs, either!'

Then he asked, 'Do you eat rib-eye steaks and barbecued ribs?

'I said, 'Not much... my former doctor said that all red meat is very unhealthy!'
'Do you spend a lot of time in the sun, like playing golf, sailing, hiking, or bicycling?'

'No, I don't,' I said.

He asked, 'Do you gamble, drive fast cars, or have a lot of sex?'

'No,' I said. ;

Then He looked at me and said,...
'Then, why do you even give a $#it?

Would you change Doctors?

Now did I just say that? What I meant was---------
I am trying to get out of the dumps since turning 70. My buddy Sonny is now in Rehab, wants me to get a bed beside him. BUT I told him my other buddy, Tuck, just bought a Yacht and a house on the Ocean and I was sure he needed a mate.

I prefer the Yacht to the Rehab, cause there is one nasty nurse there. But Sonny is improving; he was up in a wheel chair. When we arrived I didn’t give much chance for that, but we cannot predict life, now can we? I have not been over to visit he doesn’t need a cold or sore throat. Sherry ran in to tell him we were still around and would be in when things looked better or I got hired as a mate on a Yatch. LOL

Tuck found the boat in Texas, he and Rose drove out to get it. It is just about as big as our motor home. Now you know I have one rich friend. I had another rich one, Dallas, but he is spending all his up in Pennsylvania.

My Big sister put me in her will, but I can’t get her to drive fast , bungee jump or try rock climbing. I have replaced all her vitamin pills with baby aspirins and sugar pills.

CRAP, Life is rough when you have a cold, huh?

Thanks for reading this trash, Nite Shipslog
PS:
The most terrifying words in the English language are: I’m from the government and I’m here to help.

Government always finds a need for whatever money it gets.

Government does not solve problems; it subsidizes them.

PS2.
Debbie gave advise about visiting nursing homes (rehab) at odd hours. Sonny called his daughter on his cell phone at 2 am saying some really terrible things about the night nurse. Vickie went over early and talked to the head nurse, they went to Sonny’s room and he repeated word for word what he had said at 2am. He was lucid and mad. The nurse thought he was out of it as she was saying nasty things venting. We must demand to be able to have some dignity, we can’t be completely stripped.

Now that great granddaughter sure has a snazzy vehicle. Won't be long and she will be wanting a real one. Hope Sonny keeps improving and hope your cold is over soon.

Thanks for telling me about my pills. They will
be replaced in the morning. I may make a trip
to see my attorney and have the will changed.
You may have spoken to soon how about an apology.

I hope Elsie has a permit.

Now you know what I have been saying and I don't care who says otherwise but I just want to drop dead at home before I go in and it does not make any difference if it is assisted living or County run. Having a rotten day so may as well say what I think. Lucy
