We started our 40 mile commute, I stopped to take a picture of this rice field. It was much prettier in real life.
The next field was Soy beans.

The next fields were partially harvested. It is neat how they leave these rows standing. I think it is an irrigation ditch.

Okay here you see the GREEN row left, but the rice is harvested. The deep tracks are the tracks of the harvester. In this picture the tops of the rice plants have been cut off.

The shot is better. On the left you see the mature Rice plants Strait ahead the machine has clipped the tops off very smooth

Sherry in the bathroom she painted today! (Yeah she turned to the mirror to make sure her hair was right!)

Measuring for the trim around the tub. (USMC shirt courtesy of Shirl on one of her shopping trips,)

YOu may have seen this. This is the bathroom in the childrens area of the small church. This wall paper looks like mashed paper bags. I love it.

Sherry shot a larger portion of the wall.

We also hung a door today. I had to make the door, because it was an odd size.

I shot this picture because Of the large tractor and trailer. There are hundreds of them here hauling Rice, soy and cotton. Reminds me of florida where the large trucks haul citrus , I once counted a truck every three minutes on a highway in Florida. Who drinks all that juice??

We left work today at about six thirty. This farmer was still harvesting Soy beans.

I love these rice fields after the first run.

The sun was setting as we departed the Lepanto area. and Sherry reminded me we needed gas. I looked down and the gauge was on 'E'xcitement. I stopped at the next station!
It was a productive day. This job is winding down!!!
Thanks for coming this way!!
NIte Shipslog, I am beat!

You are getting to see such interesting things. I have never seen rice growing. Sherry's hair even looks nice when she is painting.

I echo what Paula said; I've never seen rice growing, or if I did, I didn't realize it was rice

glad to hear the job is winding down

I would have loved to see that rice growing. I saw some brown paper wrinkled and torn into different shapes and glued to a bathroom wall. Looked kinda neat. Helen

I don't guess I've ever seen rice growing either. A couple of weeks ago when I was taking "M" for her treatment the grain semi's were lined up as for as you could see waiting to get in the grain mill. She grew up in the city and was wondering what all those semi's were for because it had been like that for 2 weeks. I told her they were hauling corn & soybeans. The farmers have to harvest all hours of the day & nights and with all the rain we've been having I'm surprised they can get in their fields at all.

I've never seen wallpaper like that, well, unless you want to count the time my sister & I were fighting in bed and she pushed me backwards into the wall and put a big hole in it. Mom took a paper sack and glued it on the wall and painted over it, hahaha. Poor people do what poor people gotta do and that paper sack lasted for years, I remember it well, lol. I sure wasn't laughing about it then though, awww the memories.

I'm glad the job is winding down and ya'll can get a little rest. I'm sure your hard work has been appreciated.

Hugs
Debbie

Oh, I forgot to say if my gas gauge was sitting on E, I'd be having a hissy & "E"xcitement wouldn't be the word I'd be using. I can't hardly stand it when my gauge gets below half tank. Though I know my gas hand works right I still don't trust it because I've seen too many folks get stranded and pay wrecker bills because they thought something was wrong with their vehicle and all they needed was gas. Gary took the rollback last week to pick up a customer who's car had quit running but before he loaded it he tried starting it himself and listened to it, he told the customer he thought it sounded like it was out of gas so he went and picked up a little gas took it back put it in the tank and it fired right up. He had one happy customer but most places wouldn't have done that they'd have hauled it in and charged the customer a wrecker bill and probably come up with some expensive part that needed to be replaced. Oh, and for the record Gary knows when his hand is sitting on "E" he still has 4 gallons of gas left. The first thing I do if I'm going anywhere with him in the truck is look at his gas hand. It gives me the heebie jeebies, hahaha.

What is it about men that they never worry about running, out of gas , Sorry Jack I just saw Debbies comment and had to agree. Where are you going after this job is done? I saw you in face book but I just do not like face book. Went in cause I have an account and had invitations. Glad to get out.

I love the photos of the rice fields! In these here parts, the potato trucks are all over the roads now, I've never seen how they haul them from the fields...in open truck beds!
