People watching and FORDS

1896HenryFordsFirstCar

(The one that started it all for Henry Ford.)

Sitting in a hospital give you a lot of time for people watching. Here you see all shapes, sizes, ages, colors and nationalities. What never seems to amaze me is the lack of control folk have over their children.

Just now a lady came into the family room with a toddler. Unwrapped him and turned him loose. The first thing he reached for was the family room TV remote control, chewing on it and pressing buttons. Then he headed for the hall. He tripped in the hall and the remote hits the terazzo floor and goes bouncing, Oh well.1925FordModelTTorpedo-a

I think it is great that hospitals allow children to come in to see folks when they are not contagious. I imagine it was appreciated when it first started and now it is old hat and they think it is a play room. I mean there are real sick folk in a hospital, with real mean germs around.  No one can guarantee that they are contained.  The hospitals do a good job of it, but I am not sure I would allow one of my grand or great grand guys and gals to chew on a remote that has been handled by, WHO KNOWS?

We are still climbing the stairs instead of using the elevator, trying to save the hospital on the electric bill. LOL.  Sherry climbs 7 floors in less than four and close to three minutes now. I am doing it in two minutes. Today she used her shoe lace as an excuse to sit down on the stairs and tie one.  I knew she was just cheating. LOL.

About our IRS check. It is amazing how fast the check gets cashed when it is actually mailed into the IRS! Three days and it is cashed. We kept the gov't running about a microsecond. hahahahahahahahha

Oh, I got a big flirt from a young girl, must be 80,  She came over, took both my hands and said, "You sure are pretty!"

  I said, “I am sorry, I don't hear."

"That's okay you are pretty." she said, then left.  Now I am looking all over for her! hahahahahaha

A new study is out. Sex increases the risk of heart attacks if you are a sedentary person. They RECOMMEND SEX MORE OFTEN to decrease the danger. That is in caps for a reason…..uh hmmm.

Today's cars are FORDS. The old joke Fix Or Repair Daily, is a slap at a truly good car. Henry Ford was a Genius! Born in Dearborn in 1863.

WTG for both of you doing the stairs! But Sherry is almost two minutes behind you in time???? I find that hard to believe?????

I'm with you; I think I would monitor what my child put in their mouth.

people watching is fun to do, one of my favorite activities :)

At John's doctor last week a man was telling him that the kids are raising the parents now days. Everytime we go to a certain buffet restaurant I am amazed at the mess people with children leave and don't seem to leave a tip. Mel and I were always Ford people and I have carried on that tradition.

I love people watching too. It's great that the two of you are keeping active there. Waiting and visiting in hospitals is usually one time when nothing much is done but sitting. Hospitals are not usually a healthy place to be at all as they are full of sick people. I hope the two of you have a great Friday and that John continues to improve too.

I saw one yesterday morning, similar to the beige and black one or the one above or below it. Those three look similar. It was fixed up nice. Hubby used to buy Ford trucks, but he had a wild hair last time and bought a Chevy. Jarin has a Ford Focus. We are cooling off here again for about a week. You better not chase after that sweet lady or Sherry might trip you on those stairs...ha. Stay warm, Sheila

I'm a little on the bitter side this morning so forgive me if this comment sounds too bad. I hated the CCU waiting room at the Dothan hospital since you know we've been it it a few times. I love children very much, but while we had to wait in it we seen crying kids, begging kids and kids throwing fits on the floor climbing on every thing and most of the time the parents let them get away with it. I guess they think if they get on to them they will turn them in for child abuse. Hope you and Sherry have a nice day.

Why am I not surprised about that child. They are out of control today. They are not familair
with the words correction or discipline. That
is what the rooms are for let the Children
play don't care who they bother or what
germs they are eating. Grown-up who let their
children run is a sore subject with me. I will get off my soap box before I get started.

Try to stay warm.

Love the pictures of the cars and yes kids are left to do anything they please. So much different than when my kids were little.

You two must be taking those steps two at a time. You both are in good physical shape. Just get that hearing taken care of if possible. No telling what those ladies are telling you and you are hearing something entirely different ha ha.
I love those old Fords. Helen

I agree with you 100% on the contribution made to this country by Henry Ford. I still love my F.O.R.D pick-up! So many things you and I agree on - especially about todays young parents who seem un-able or un-willing to exercise control of those kids. I'm not talking about the kids that are sick and crying - I'm talking about the sassy ones and the ones who defy the parents instructions. If we aren't careful someone will jump our case for speaking harshly to the little angels. And on that other subject - I'm for anything to decrease the danger of a stroke or heart attack! ☻ ☻ ☻

Forgot to say - I'm amazed at you and Sherry climbing the stairs like that! You really are an amazing couple.

Jack I remember the old saying when I was a
teenager. They said that LTD stood for
"Lot of Tin in Detroit." Do you remember that.
