Are you upset at the gas prices?

It is unbelievable that we have so much oil in the USA and we are not oil independent. Why can’t we drill for it NOW!

I hear some improvement from Paula, who talks about Fracking in her area (that is a good word don’t get upset). I do hope that we will start drilling more in Alaska and in areas of the USA where we do have oil.

Many have said, including me, we do need an alternate source of fuel, but until then we are gonna use oil. Look at all the cars around you, do you think we are just gonna junk these cars and everyone take out a loan for $90,000 for a new ‘Dactamatic’ or whatever the next generation is going to be? NOPE, it will phase in. Sorta like the leaning to hybrids and electric. They are nice cars. I did ride in my NEW friend Dianne’s hybrid, while in New Mexico, it was nice and had power. Well, Buddy drove it, but it was Di’s.

Not everyone is going to run out and buy a Hybrid. Neither are we gonna rush out and buy a Hydrogen car, they will be to expensive at first, so, that leaves us with the gasoline and diesel engines, and we are going to use them.

A lot of folk were disappointed in Bush, I agreed with him a lot, especially the hydrogen fuel and hydrogen car development. BUT where have we gone with it? Not far enough. Or have I been sleeping?

Check out this bad Suzuki! Yep they are hydrogen, but mostly fuel cells. I am waiting for the one you fill with the garden hose.

Now I love the idea of the Hydrogen car, I am bowled over by the few I have shown, there are many more BUT Look at that beauty, a 1956 Ford, hey, that baby is “made in the shade with table grade!”  Also, ‘Cool’.

Thanks for coming by the log.

So "Frack" is a good word yah? LOL

Love the photos of the cars.

I'm busy making some more new jewelry. Now, I have to find a place to go to wear all this stuff! I better find my own area 51 or find Jimmy Sullivan down in the Miami area! LOL

Hugs, Rose

My first car was a 56 Ford and I did love that car!!! Gas prices have dropped here considerably. Today I saw a sign for 3.39 a gallon. That is 20 cents cheaper than earlier this same week. Hope you all are enjoying your Sunday. The sun finally came out in Ohio today and I'm loving it.

I forgot to say that gas was only .23 cents a gal when I drove that Ford.

You wouldn't believe the oil activity here. They just this week started a new apartment complex down the street from us and just built twelve duplexes in a row next town over plus all the housing built when Toyota plant came in. The farm to market road to the ranch was a laid back calm road but now there are trucks going and coming. Gas has gone down a little but I wouldn't bet it stays down.

it is good to read the activity that Paula said is happening in her neck of the woods. It seems to come and go though doesn't it? But I have to agree we do need an alternate source. I think we need to be diligent on it too for exploring that works, keeping working on it, and continue to have a time table where it happens at a reasonable price that the majority of people will be able to afford. I like hybrids but not the cost of them, LOL.

Gas is coming down nicely here; actually I'm much happier with the price of gas here than I was a few months ago when it was close to $4.50 a gallon. Now most stations are less than $4.00 for all the grades of gas sold (not sure actually about diesel prices though now that I say that).

how was the reunion? I hope we get a bit of a post on it???

I just got gas today and paid $3.46. It seems
there is just as many cars on the road. So I guess we are keeping the oil Companies in business. We have plenty of oil and need to start drilling. I wish we could all protest
to get better prices but we need our transportation. So we will keep letting our cars drink the gas.

as usual when reading the Shipslog, I find you challenging me to a new thought process...have said when I get another 40,000 miles out of my old car will trade. But---now that I've explored a half dozen websites featuring those newfangled vehicles---I want one NOW! IF I had the bucks, wouldn't know which to choose, am baffled. Just hoping you continue your fascination with cars and help me figure out whether hydrogen is different from/better or worse than electric or whutever else there is out there when I do buy. You owned a lot of classics (before they were) so I know you have the "eye".....
