Thinking of Friends

I received this a while ago and saved it:

Friends are like balloons;
Once you let them go, you might not get them back. Sometimes we get so busy with our own lives and problems that we may not even notice that we've let them fly away. Sometimes we are so  caught up in who's right and who's wrong that we forget what's right and wrong.. Sometimes we just  don't realize what real friendship means until it is too late. I don't want to let that happen so I'm going to tie you to my heart so I never lose you.

Now that is a little hokey for a man, so I will say that is Sherry speaking. Since she is actually my Better half, it will be okay.

I have met some great internet friends, many read this blog. Thanks for being around.

(You had better listen)

I have friends who write above my eighth grade vocabulary, but I don’t mind, sometimes I look up the words to find out what they mean. Then I forget them because that is the nature of us old folk.

(3 is cool)

Shirl asks if I can believe she is 7x, I tell her I can’t even believe I am 74. Shoot I can remember Orwells 1985 (wasn’t it?) and thought, wow that is a long way off, I will never see that.

But physical friends? I don’t have many. In reality my male friends I can count on one hand. But  I sure do not want to lose them, I might need a loan one day.

I read once, a friend would give good council and say, I will go with you to the police station to report this. A  real friend would help you bury the body. LOL  I have two of those (+me makes three).

(I think we can catch dem birds)

I started to say maybe I’m feeling down, but I am not, I am very happy. My daddy said, when it comes down to the end, where the rubber meets the road, if you have ONE good friend, you are better than most.

So thanks friends, Life is great..

PS:

To actually be loved, is one of the greatest pleasures a human can know or enjoy.

Must have been Sunday when this picture was made. For many years gas stations closed on Sunday.

You and Sherry are very dear to us, dear friends. I know what you mean tho about getting caught up in problems, rights and wrongs so long that you forget which was which and why...life is too short, so I hope I'm one of those that never forgets to always see the best in everyone, cuz we all have our flaws. Have a great day, Jack and Sherry. It's freezing cold here, minus 5 but the sun is shining and I'm watching the eagle eat a snack.

Thank you for being my friend :)

Did you count me in as being one that would help you bury the body?

You are right as I said Friendship
is a Blessing. I have good friend
and one that saves me money she is a good listener so be don't have to go to a shrink. We discuss the problem and then it is over.

I think it was 1984 by George Orwell, but I never read it. But I do remember thinking in the 1970s how 2000 would be, how old I would be, etc., and then all of a sudden we are in 2013, how did that happen?

Good advice there about friends, keeping a hold of them, especially those that are "keepers". I know I've lost some over the years I wish I kept a tighter hold on....

Friendships are very special and I treasure them all, I hope that Jim and I get to meet you and Sherry someday.

Yes, friends are certainly rare. Living a few thousand miles apart shows who's and who's not. Yes, in the end it is the partner.

Yes, it was 1984, neither did I read it. For me, the 2000 was something difficult to think of. Now it is that our son knows more about the planets than me !

Please have you all a good new week.

I sure miss my good friend from high school who passed a few months ago. I appreciate one left whom I can call and tell anything to and know she would never repeat it. We only get to talk on the phone but that is better then nothing. I still like your threesome pictures.

Jack what you say is true about friends. We need to value and nurture them. I have lost two of my best friends in the 50's and it like to have killed me. I do have a feeling though you have a ton of friends. I can just tell. Sandie

Friends are wonderful to have and I have quite a few like you and Sherry now that I consider friends. Blogging has brought a lot of different people into my life and I am thankful for all the trips and travels and pictures of places I'd never get to see otherwise. It's to be a chilly week here in northern Ohio. They say we'll not get out of the teens and drop close to the zero's at night. Looks like I'll be staying inside here most of the week. Hope you both have a wonderful Monday!

True Friends are those who you can not see or talk to for a long time and when you do see or talk to them it is like it was only yesterday.
