WHAT? His Birth Certificate is NO GOOD?

Imma tell you , I DO NOT LIKE BIN LADEN.  Since 9/11 our government has set in place some feel good rules that they say will protect us much better.

Sherry and I have had passports for years, the boys traveled with us over seas so they never needed passports. Today we were supposed to remedy that situation. We have been waiting 6 weeks for this appointment.

Our life style has cause some complications in life. Jack Jr. was born in at Keesler AFB in Biloxi, Miss.  Mark was born in Kirksville, Missouri. I was born in Gastonia, NC and Sherry was born in Belmont, NC.  So if we need a birth certificate it is no simple task. Fortunately a couple years on a trip around the country we passed thru Kirksville, and on a whim we decided to get a copy of Mark’s Birth Certificate. Good move. Because Mark is the ‘can’t find a thing’ son. The I musta lost it son, if you now what I mean.

Jack Jr. is a I have it son. I called to be sure weeks ago that jack had his birth certificate. Sure dad, I have it and a copy.

So today Jack handed his ORIGINAL BIRTH CERTIFICATE over to the lady. You know the pretty one, with the gold seal on it. The one that is nearly 55 years old and in basically mint condition. He handed it over only to hear the words, this is not good enough. I must have one with a raised seal on it.  WHAT? his mama is here, his daddy is here. I have the family Bible out in the car can’t that be proof enough?

NADA, no can do. I am thinking. 4 weeks from now we need the passport in hand, I cannot just run down to Biloxi, Mississippi and pick up a certified copy.

WHAT DANG GOOD IS AN ORIGINAL BIRTH CERTIFICATE?????? You protect it like a treasure, for what?

Oh,” passport lady says, “You can go to this website, vitalchek.com,  and get one!” She didn’t say, $42 and a few days later!

Okay, so I have that off my chest. Why doesn’t the processor have the authority to say here is a statement by properly Identified Mama and Daddy along with a copy of a Bible entry verifying that this is a true Birth certificate.

I just wanted to gripe, thanks for listening.

PS: Of course Sherry is saying to me, calm down she is just doing her job, she must follow the rules.(and all that sweet stuff). (Of course I did apologize to the lady for yelling at her. She accepted my apology)

Yeah, everything is on track now, but I was planning to go on vacation in the next day or two, now that is delayed, LOL.

(I know, you all think I am on vacation all the time. LOL)

I will look at some old cars and I will feel better..

«Louis» et Mme la Vache put that Frog Fuel in Priority Mail, so they hope it arrives today or tomorrow!

Of course, «Louis» likes the photo of the Packard Predictor. That car had so many advanced features - most of which would have been standard equipment on the '57 Packards that were never built...
Those '56 Packard Clipper taillights work in that customized Buick, too!

Why didn't you ask the clerk why Øbama gets away without a legitimate birth certificate?

The difference between God and Øbama: neither one has a birth certificate, but God doesn't think he's Øbama!

SO Jack - what was wrong with the birth certificate - that she said was wrong? Why wasn't it acceptable? That was ridiculous. At lease she gave you a way to get one!!!!!!!!!!! sandie

What was wrong? It was the Original, not a certified copy of the original????????????

Oh, Louis, the mailman just brought the Frog Fuel. I am on my second cup of Super Frog. I'm good to go. LOL

This is good to know. Might need a passport to go to Canada. All I have is the certified copy, not the real thing. Glad you have a solution in hand.

Yes, it is essential to have that official raised seal. In the past 20 years I've needed to have that official birth certificate more than I ever did the 1st 50 years of my life. Sorry your vacation got delayed...Are your son's going with you? My vacation is almost over and will head for home tomorrow.

Haha, you have to watch those pretty ladies with the gold seal on them! (Just joking.)
I think it's a conspiracy for the government to get that $42.
The thing I really hate is when the rules and regualations don't allow for a human to use rational thinking skills to make a judgement. Never mind using common sense, the RULES must be followed!
What a pill!

Hahahahahahaha Okay Bonnie, you can quit proofing now!!!!!

I like the pretty ladies with the gold seal!!! LOL
I would change it but it would change my font on the entry!

I don't think I will need a passport but maybe I had better see if mine has the raised seal.

I like Louis comment Obama doesn't have a birth certificate. "EXCUSE ME".

If you were an illegal immigrant, you probably wouldn't need anything.
Remember...the bombers (Boston) were on welfare...and one wasn't a citizen. Don't get me started on red tape.
Hope that all begins to smooth out regarding the passport, Jack.
Hugs,
J.

when I moved Don and I back to Virginia in 2006 I had a similar problem with the local DMV. Strike that I had a problem with 1 clerk at the local DMV. A couple of weeks later when all the faxing and calling had ended between the local DMV and the DMV in Richmond and I had my DL, I wondered why I hadn't been asked for a DNA test. can't lay all the blame on bin Laden, in my case :D

Man oh man! "Enuff to make a preacher cuss", as the old saying goes. I've fought with many a clerk or officer over passports, shot cards, visas, etc. and thought I was being singled out. One Gordon Bloodworth once "I am not responsible!" To which he replied, "I can see that!"

My dad had trouble with his naturalization papers many times. He was here 20 years & my mom started to tell him maybe they would just send him back(I think that was after they'd had a fight
;0).

I love a good, strong cup of coffee.
