I Fell for you!

That is a line from a 50’s song. Yeah teen agers existed then. Some danced to the music played on the TV program with Dick Clark, American Bandstand. Many kids had great times dancing to the rock and roll music of the 50’s. Sherry and I could not dance (that was a sin) but we could smooch to the music of Buddy Holly and:

Why Do Fools Fall In Love
Teenagers

The Great Pretender
Platters

Ain't It A Shame
Fats Domino

“Only You!” by the Platters.

But My girl was an “Earth Angel” sang by the Penquins.

Earth angel, earth angel
Will you be mine
My darling dear
Love you all the time
I'm just a fool
A fool in love with you

Earth angel, earth angel
The one I adore
Love you forever and ever more
I'm just a fool
A fool in love with you

I fell for you and I knew
The vision of your love-loveliness
I hoped and I pray that someday
I'll be the vision of your hap-happiness
(Oh-oh-oh-oh)

Earth angel, earth angel
Please be mine
My darling dear
Love you all the time
I'm just a fool
A fool in love with you

I fell for you and I knew
The vision of your loveliness
I hope and pray that someday
That I'll be the vision of your happiness

(oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh)

Earth angel, earth angel
Please be mine
My darling dear
Love you all the time
I'm just a fool
A fool in love with you-ou
(You-you-you)

Okay I will admit, I just tucked my girl of 57 years, in bed and came back to the computer. Yeah, I still tuck her in. She is, and has been my dream. Still the  beautiful teen ager I fell in love with.

Remember when you were a teenager? Gonna live forever!

I do not know why I was so lucky, but as I tell her, I am the luckiest man in the world, and I am enjoying it. Yeah, I am in my mid 70’s and she rings my bells.

I dreamed of my sons being as happy as we are in marriage, but it wasn’t to be. So I have to ask myself, is life-long happiness a thing of the past? Has the time past when a boy and girl meet, fall in love, marry, have children, and live happily ever after?

Some folk hear that and think there were no problems. Of course there were problems, Mostly my fault (I know that, not being modest). But we worked thru the problems because SHE WAS THE ONE!

Sorry folk, I am writing this the night before posting and it is one of those nights. I saw her beauty, and I knew the secret of our happiness. The secret is her loveliness. Body and character. My girl is the best.

Thanks for stopping by, I am one happy guy. Just sayin’.

PS:

We meet happy couples and it makes me feel good inside. I could name you but you know who I mean. Stay in love. Growing old together is such a pleasure. Some do not get to grow old together, life isn’t always fair, but you can remember how good it would have been.

PS2: I didn’t mean to be so long, but it was one of those mental nights of nostalgia.

I wrecked this beauty just after taking Sherry home after a double date. I am sure glad it did not happen with her in the car. My buddy Tucker had a harder head when it rolled over. We had minor injuries.l

Glad you found that special girl for you. Not so many marriages are as good as yours and last as long.

You both are so blessed. This morning a face book friend posted this on face book. She's a Physical therapist and she did work with me and Grover when we broke our hip. I couldn't help but laugh.

I am LMBOL when I asked an old lady, what day is it today? She said to her husband "what day is it today" with the sweetest voice, her husband shouted and in a grumpy angry voice: "don't look at me, she asked you, you cannot keep up with your time, you forget everything, today is Wednesday!" We hehehehe I said nothin' just LMBOL in my head "grumpy old men!"

Aw Jack, your words have touched my heart -- as well as my eyeballs' faucet!
Having had my share of strike-outs, I can only surmise that some people aren't wholly committed at the outset.
Thanks for these great tunes (now playing in my mind!) ... and mostly, for setting such a great example!

I was always amazed at how many people were dancing on Saturday night and went to a church on Sunday morning who didn't believe in dancing. I believe in dancing, I believe in American Band Stand, I believe in Dick Clark, I believe. Now if I could just see good to drive at night, have good balance, and still fit into my boots I would have it made.

You were fortunate to find a girl that could match your wandering spirit. I loved the Platters, Earth Angel, and all. I loved to snuggle up and dance with my partner. I nearly married a service man after my divorce several years later, but Lee won out. Still liked to snuggle to those songs.
