Fashion Police, and self appointed judges of the world.

Since I do not know Julia Roberts, other than the name, I had to ask my ‘mind’ (Sherry) what was the problem with her outfit, after reading the title line “Julia Roberts’ outfit made ‘us’ cringe!”  by ‘The Stylist’. So the Stylist knows, I guess.  But the outfit looked fine to me, but then if she had been in jeans it would have been okay with me.

Do these ‘NASTY’ comments mean anything to the ‘stars?’  Has society became so bad that we love to make nasty comments and broad cast them.  I hear a lot (and see some) ignorant statements (nasty, or at best uncomplimentary) on Facebook and other social media. Do we love to cut folks down?

Which of the following Las Vegas Architecture designs do you  prefer?

(There are folk who think the top one is Ugly ! Surprised smileWinking smile   )

Lists, we seem to love lists:

OUR 10… worst dressed

THE 10….worst cars

THE 10… stupidest Politicians (only ten?)

LOOK AT the 10… Worst cities to retire to

etc….

I remember my daddy’s position on that, “If you have to drag folks down to make yourself look better, YOU do not stand so tall.”   I am not saying I do not make negative comments about people, I state my opinion to Sherry at times about others, but it stays between us, it is not done publically to humiliate anyone. WHY WOULD ONE WANT TO DO THAT?  That is a sick personality methinks.

Most of the people I know would never do that to me. Of course being perfect there would be no cause for it. Angry smileOpen-mouthed smile

However I do know folks like that, ones that say, “I have to say what is on my mind and let the chips fall where they may,”  But when the shoe is on the other foot, the situation is different.  As kids you would say, you can dish it out, but you cannot take it.

Kids growing up, do say hurtful things to others (sometimes referred to as bullying now), but most of us learn pretty fast it is not good. Sorrowfully some never learn and continue to enjoy, ‘Hurting others with stinging words.’

That statement, “STICKS AND STONES MAY BREAK MY BONES, BUT WORDS WILL NEVER HURT ME”, sounds good. There are folks that can actually live that philosophy, but most of us cannot, we find that words like knives, can cut deep.

I dislike self appointed  judges, so I guess I am one. Surprised smile.  But I am RIGHT!  Winking smile

I do that the folks that read my blog, are good eggs.

1955-Chevrolet-Bel-Air-Hardtop-Two-Door-Exterior-01

In my opinion, this was the most beautiful piece of steel to come out of Detroit, the 1955 Chevy 2dr hard top.  But that is the year I got my license and the New one I wanted. hahahaha! Also the one I drove (borrowed) to ask Sherry for the first date. (AND SHE SAID YES)

Good morning to you and Sherry. I'm here early for a change. I like your Daddy's saying and I agree with it.

I'm mostly known as 'MA' said...

I too agree with your dad's saying. It's so much better to give a compliment or a helping hand than to put someone down. Colder here today but the sun, even though faint has come out once more.Hope you both have a wonderful Wednesday!

You know DAD was right. When you
criticize someone it just makes you
a small person..I will say something
I don't like. I guess the older I
get I am not as bad. I will think
it and try not to let it come out
of my mouth. I am not perfect by
any means. We can't stay quite
all the time...

Unfortunately there are people who make their living being critical of other people. Shame on them.

Very true! My Mother always said "If you cannot say something nice about someone, don't say anything". The 57 chevy is my husbands favorite!

My mom when she was here with me - we would watch all the award shows and we would talk together and pick which ones we liked. We had a dun time - guess we did that on a little scale. But I hate to hear it out loud like that! I always feel kind of sorry for them! sandie

«Louis» agrees with you about that '55 Chevy!
It STILL looks good!
The one you show was originally a "stove bolt six" - the giveaway is the Chevy emblem on the hood. If it had been a V-8, there would have been a "V" under the Chevy emblem. It looks like this one probably has a big, gutsy V-8 in it now!

I'm of the opinion that if I can't say something nice, I just don't say anything at all.
Sometimes, I'm speechless! :))
Love being here, Jack.
Never speechless when I'm here.
Always look forward to your next post.
Always,
Jackie

I don't think it bothers the stars too much to hear comments like that because they like that people are talking about them, know what I mean?

I do agree with your dad's word of advice and wisdom. Always good to be careful how we use our words indeed!
