I know that the chances are billions to one that I could win,
but someone will. Someone will beat the odds and be a rich person, instantly.
When there is a big lottery pay off, just as sure as the sun
comes up in the morning, stories of people who blew it surfaces. You would get the idea from the Media that
winning the lottery is an exercise in futility. This time on AOL they listed 21
lottery winners who are now broke.
I am sure everyone who wins says that will not happen to
me. BUT for some reason we have many
humans who CANNOT handle money whether it is the weekly pay check or a big payoff
for a movie star or sports hero. In the
military I had friends who could not rub two dimes together a week after
payday. These guys lived in the barracks and ate in the mess hall but still
could not hold onto their money.
The media pulls up the ‘LOSERS’ from the sports world just as
soon as some kid signs a multi-million dollar contract. AS I have mentioned
before, our media loves the ‘BAD STUFF’.
As a matter of fact most lottery winners are still wealthy and
doing well, thank you very much. Our news
back home interviewed a local winner this week. A few years ago he won $88
million. He said, “I still work some, to
keep in shape. The only big change you would notice is that I live in a much
nicer home!”
The Lottery commission constantly advises winners to check with
the experts on how to handle that much money, but a few still buy more STUFF than
they can pay taxes on.
So when I win next week, remember I am going to buy me a big
steak and chow down!

Yep, you got to buy a ticket in order to win. I haven't bought any. I'll leave the winning to someone else...maybe you !
I do not usually buy a ticket but I plan to get one for this win. If I won, Id still want to live a simple life but have the things I need and want). I would first get a lawyer, then Id give a lot to churches. I would not buy a big house but buy a nice a house in a location I love. Id have nice furniture and maybe a collector car.
Oh and Id buy you and Sherry that steak.

I like the cartoons.
A steak sounds like such a good idea, I hope you can find a way to do that even if you don't win the lottery.
If I remember, I'll buy a ticket :) If I win, LOL, I would bank 20 years of our annual salaries and give the rest away somehow. I can't imagine not working and I can't imagine having more money than I know what to do with. Rather pass it on to others who can use it to benefit the lives of those that need help :)

I think you've a good handle on Powerball frenzy, Jack. Oh, I tried buying a ticket at the local mart after work, but once I spotted the line waiting, I turned tail.
Goodness ... just the thought of that kind of money makes my teeth hurt!
Now ... off to watch the Big Game and pour an adult beverage. It's not often I say this in public, but ROLL-TIDE-ROLL!!!
I texted Sheila Saturday night to ask her had she bought her lottery tickets, she told me to go get me one. It is about 25 or 30 miles to the nearest place where they sell them and I didn't want one that bad. I use to buy $5.00 worth a week and drive down to Florida line to get them for me and several coworkers. I'm happy with what I have and I wouldn't know what to do with that kind of money I guess I could give it to my kids and maybe they could move back closer to home. (Smile)
I would rather win a smaller amount. I think it would be less headaches. Saturday I won $20 on a scratch-off but in reality I only won $10 since I paid $5.oo to the ticket and then turned around a bought another just like it for $5.00. Humm can't win for losing. Hope you are feeling better. I finally got rid of the spasams in my back but still some pain.
