I remember

When some mean kids would call a number at random from the Telephone Directory and ask, "Is your refrigerator running?"
"Yes it is."  the answer(er) would say.
Then the kids would all say in a giggle, "Then you had better catch it before it gets away!"

And for smokers it was , "Do you have Prince Albert in a can?" (Prince Albert was a smoking tobacco, for you that do not know!)
Then the answer was, "Better let him out!"

Well tonight I am learning I have allergies,  as I sit here I have my nose plugged up with two corners of my handkerchief.  My nose is running and I cannot catch it.  I am going to lay down and read. It is a physical impossibility for your Nose to run if you are laying down, ISN'T IT?
I am thinking of a clothespin!

I think Sherry is grinning.

Nite Shipslog.

I think this truck has a runny nose!

Nothing worse than allergies and a perpetually running nose. I hope you catch it soon (and that the allergies subside :)

I'm hoping your nose is better. Allergies are affecting a lot of people these days with all the pollen in the air here. I remember those jokes especially the refrigerator one ! Take good care !

Im guilty of playing those pranks. We used to ask people if they had a "henway". They would ask "whats a henway?" and we would respond with " ah about 3 lbs".
Sorry to hear you may be getting allergies. They are awful. Worst than a cold a times. Takes something with antihistamine and you will feel better fast.

Listen to Sherry.

I also remember all of those, even the henway one, always thought that one funny.

Hopefully the nose gets better quickly, you would think it wouldn't run while laying down, however to stop it a clothespin may be the remedy.

Hope you feel better soon.

These old pranks (pre-caller ID) almost make me feel sorry for today's youth. Wonder how many recipients of our calls just 'played along' to humor us.

Seems this year's allergy season is worse than most. I'm a sneezing even in my sleep! Hope you're feeling lots better today!

I have never had an allergy but this year I have the same problem with nose.
I guess it go along with age. Enjoyed Lunch today with the family.
It is always when we get together talks are so interesting. I think the truck has more than a runny nose. Surprise it still runs.
