The Rain tree and our Florida walk.....

Cars of beauty and art:
 Tesla model S

Now:
Sherry and I try to walk every day. We do not always make it, but we make it at least 5-6 days every week. The walk is between 2 & 3 miles.  If I am ever elected to a city council (HAHA) I am gonna propose the city put a porta-potty every mile or two.  Then we could walk further! LOL
We see many Rain-trees on our walk. Until the last 10 years I never paid close attention to the tree. This is a Florida rain tree. When the sun hits it right it becomes a fire:

From Study.com
Raintree:
The scientific name for the raintree is Albizia saman. It is a tree that is native to the tropical regions of the New World. The raintree is a flowering plant. It belongs to the taxonomic family Fabaceae, and is related to the pea. The reason this species is called a rain tree is because the leaves curl in during rainstorms. The average height of a mature raintree is approximately 82 feet.

The flowering part of the tree is shaped sorta like an oriental lantern with 3 wings.
This one we walk under and even duck a little it is so loaded.

The rain tree is very pretty and colorful your eye cannot miss it as you walk.  We have sidewalks in this community, many places on both sides of the street.

BUT a few places the residents (or empty lots) encroach and block the sidewalk.

Like the west, we have many beautiful sunsets here. With the setting sun lighting up the rain trees and clouds.

It was dark when we reached home. Just a few minutes before arriving home, I caught this palm silhouette.

I love the ‘Tropical look’ and especially the palms. If it is not a fruit palm (coconut or date) it is only decorative as far as eye pleasure or food. We have one small palm, at our house. Our community has very little ‘busy traffic.’ Most everyone works and once they are home the cars stay parked. Actually most of our walk could be done in the middle of the streets.
We have a few porch sitters. We enjoying speaking and waving without stopping.

I bet those rain trees are just gorgeous to see in person! Walking is such great exercise, good thing you and Sherry still pursue it as often as you guys do. So beneficial for so much of our body and brains. Sounds like you walk in a relatively safe place too!

I used to live in FL and recognize the tree but never knew anything about it---other than it is quite beautiful to look at and enjoy.

I am so glad you and Sherry get out and walk. I am sure that is part of the reason that you two are healthy and going strong.

Have a wonderful, blessed week, Jack. Hugs- Diana

You do have a beautiful place there to walk and that rain tree is amazing! I'd never seen one or even heard of it before. I do love palm trees and have seen them. They are always delight to see. You are blessed to be able to enjoy a good walk. These days it seems my long walks are when I go to the grocery store. Ha !

I have never heard of a rain tree. So I just learned something. I would love to walk your path where the rain trees are bright and the palms trees are standing tall.

You know, I've probably seen them a hundred times, but never heard the name "Rain tree." Neat!
I'm a thinking you should submit your Porta Potty idea to the Council. If they charged a quarter/per 'visit' no telling how rich the City might become. LOL.

Loved walking with you through your blogging. The rain tree and palm are beautiful. We have Chinese Lantern plants, a vine that is not native to the north but do vine and produce brilliant orange lanterns like your rain trees.
Very nice..........I never knew you were so into the plants. I love the search of what a new-to-me plant is. Have a great week walkin' about!
love n' hugs from up north where it's been drizzling all day just enough to keep everything wet.
