Sewing 2 of 2, Pockets

A favorite car
 1955 MG
Now:
Reason I want to sew. I have started wearing cargo pants. The reason for that is my wallet is getting like a ladies purse, it has too much inside and causes a problem in my back pocket. With cargo pants I can keep the wallet in the side leg pockets, problem solved.

Now I want to install a pocket on the leg of my jeans.  LOL  I am not sure I can do it and make it look good, but if I can get this last machine to working, Imma try.

One of the machines is a Huskavarna, the other is a Singer. I only had bobbins for the Husky, so I tried one in the Singer, and that started my problems. There was a ‘birds nest’ on the underside of the fabric I was practicing on.
I enjoy sewing, I am not good at it, but it is fun if you do not have to worry about perfection. And I certainly do not.LOL

Lisa's mama is a professional seamstress and has a business in the next town over. (Lisa comments here),  I have thought about having it done professionally. I might still have to do that.

I do not knit. That looks so danged confusing and hard to me. I admire folks like MaryAnn and Lisa who can sit and make Afgans, hats and booties.

I think it would be awesome to have an old singer Treadle machine in our home, the grands would love stories that come from those things. (I cannot imagine someone creating a wedding dress!)

Oh yeah, I just got a notice, my proofs for Ace ‘n Me will be here tomorrow. I am anxious to see them.

I will read it to Stormy, maybe she will want to live with us.  Hahahaha.

I'm sure Stormy will be a captive audience when you read your book to her! I'm thinking it might be good to have a professional do a pocket. May be a bit sturdier and more cosmetically appealing.

We had an old Singer treadle in our farmhouse at Rucker; I learned to sew on it and loved it! You, Jack, have the skills to run a sewing machine, just go for it :)

Brilliant idea about pockets in the legs. (WHY don't manufacturers catch on?) You're sure patient. I'd probably just grab a tube of Instant Glue and have at it, come H*** or high water. :)

When we bought this house we cleaned out a lot of things left, 1 of them was an old foot pedal sewing machine, we dragged it out to the curb and it was gone in a half hour along with loads of other items !! Jack, I have my knitting needles that I learned to knit on, I can still knit 1 and pearl 2, LoL ! Took some of today off and rested up from yesterday but did work on yard ! Take care and we got wind, rain and now the temp is 68 cool degrees, (Love it cooler) ! Love from the North, Gary and Anna Mae !

I have my gramma's old treadle machine and can remember her sitting there and patiently stitching dresses and aprons. She wore an apron every day of life that I can remember.

Happy Sewing- hope you can get your machine(s) to work. Hugs- Diana

“Bird Nest” yes! Thats what happens to me every time I try to sew. I just can’t do it.
I found a little spot of wifi for a minute so I could finally comment on some blogs. I will be catching up on all the past post as soon as Im home from vacay. Right now, I get knock off right in the middle of reading. But hey, the sun and sand is nice here.

I give you a lot of credit for trying anyway. Hope eventually you can figure it all out and have your pockets where you want them. They would make it easier for you to carry things. Cargo pants used to be very popular and my boys wore them. They would go round with pockets bilking out all over. There was never and end to what they could find to put in them.

We still have a Singer on our porch with a foot pedal.
