Saturday.. Throw away society,

 Picture if the day.

Even in India, there are scrappers

Now for today’s Stuff:

When we go back to our home-base in NC we need to buy a Range, washer and dryer. Son Mark who was once a licensed builder, now on Social security, is a Scrapper. (Yes, Sherry’s sons, who kept saying: ‘Dad there will be no SS when we get to our 60s) Yep, both our sons are now on Social Security. Really we are not that old, we were married at 14 yrs old, or was it 17?

But to let you know I do know stuff, I told them SS would be around when they reached 60.

See, I am a prophet.

Mark bought our place here in Leesburg. We pay his utilities to let us stay here when we cannot get reservations. So our coach is now parked in Mark’s side yard.

That is our long-haired Mark in Key West with our Beagle.

He is hooked on Scrapping. While we have been here he has brought in washers, dryers, and Refrigerators. He tests new looking ones out before selling them for scrap. If they test good he sells them with a money back guarantee.

He has given us a dryer that looks new, it works, I will figure a way to take it home when we head North.

Scrapping to Mark, is sort of an Easter Egg Hunt. Who knows what he will bring back next. Florida is a great place for scrapping, this is a throw away society especially around here.

This is our Scrapper now, or a couple yrs ago.

I am just about run down. LOL Thanks for coming by.

PS: Now you know; I Just might be a prophet. At the least, I am old enough to be one. ;-)

It is hard to believe our kids get that old isn't it.
You are right it is a throw away society. I see it too.
Nice you got a dryer - maybe you will get a washer and stove too!
Good night.

I think your son is smart to reuse or redo or scrap. Life is too expensive and frankly he's saving the landfills! My brother like to visit the Goodwills in Florida. I guess when the old ones pass on the young ones take their stuff to thrift stores and he's found some really nice things!

It's so good to be clever at fixing things. Yes, we're in the throw-away era.

God bless.

If only we were all good at fixing things like you and your son. Usually the cost of parts is so expensive, it is cheaper to buy it new. I have bought used rather than new because it is cheaper, but I'm not a fixer. I have picked up furniture from curbs and painted some things or refinished them to look like new, but not able to fix with repairs to the mechanics.

Dear Prophet---Can you please send me the winning Lotto numbers for a big win?! lol. Glad you have a scrapper in your family. In our family when we use the term Scrapper it is to talk about someone 'scrappy-that is up for fight (word or otherwise). lol.
Glad you have a son that scraps for good reasons AND is on SS. We always knew, didn't we?! Hugs to you and Sherry- Diana

My late uncle used to be a scrapper. I was never really sure what that meant before reading this. Tom's looking at FB this week to see if we can't find someone reasonable to come take away our burn barrels and assorted scrap metal.

PS - Don't tell him I said this, but no matter his age, your boy is mighty handsome.

When I was a kid a man would come around in a wagon pulled by a horse collecting most anything you wanted to get rid of. He was called the Junk Man and he was pretty scary. :)
