I cna never get over how large the houses and barnes are here.
This is our front yard for a few days.

Another of the huge farms.

This is the mountain road leading into Pine Grove Furnace State park near GArdners, PA

Here we are at home in Pennsylvania, you can barely see my girlfriend in our picture window.

We have a camp fire going as I type this.

Lushus fields just inside the PA line.

Boy when this motor home sits in one spot, it gets mad. When I went to take in the awnings, the large patio awning did not want to go up. Another broken spring. The third in as many years. Oh well I can roll it up by hand until we find an awning man.
Parking for last night we found ‘Creekside Campground’ I walked out of the motor home and water and steam was pouring out the hot water compartment. Huh, oh. It was not as bad as it looked. The tank had blown a ½” plug. I dug the old one out and had one to replace it. This had caused a leak in the pop off valve, which I do not have an extra. So tomorrow we will try to find one. Just a little bump in the road. It is still great to be on the road again. This is a beautiful little town. We went into town and ate at Sal’s Italian Bistro. The food was great, although a little high. Of course I figure $5 is high.LOL
We had a beautiful drive up the Shenandoah Valley yesterday and finished it today. You have to admire the beauty of this valley, and it is huge!!!! It is from 50 to 80 miles wide and 200 miles long. Also called the Big Valley. The rolling hills in the valley covered with grain, pasture with horses and cattle and beautiful old houses. There are some very picturesque barns and houses. We missed so many getting ready to shot it and trees or hills get in the way. We are not professional enough to want to stop and take the pictures, but there are times when we should. There are so many otters or ground hogs along the way it is unbelievable. They just sit up and look at you pass.
We blew the horn at the location where the AT goes under the Interstate. I am sure you realize for a trail to encompass 2167 miles it has to cross paths, streets, roads, highways, railroads, rivers and interstates. All the crossings are safe. Some rivers you cross on old RR bridges that have been converted to walkways. But most rivers are crossed on road bridges with a walk way attached. Most of the interstates are crossed by going under a country road underpass. Virginia has about 600 miles of the Appalachian trail in it. These were some of the most beautiful of the trail, and it was mostly an easy walk.

Tonight we are at the Pine Grove Furnace State Park in Pennsylvania. We will take a few days to do repairs before going on to New York. We do hope to visit friends while here.
Thanks for coming by the Log,
Nite Shipslog
PS:
When you get low, think of this:

*****At least 2 people in this world love you so much they would die for you.

*****At least 15 people in this world love you in some way.

*****A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don't like you.

*****Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep.

Well it looks lonely out back.
Got a cucumber out of the garden. One more
tomatoe has turned. We are having Blue Grass
music Friday night with about 15. I don't know much about Blue Grass but it is fun. I will prepare the eats. Dr. Page is coming to Belmont next Sunday to see a lady in assisted living. I think she is close to 100. I guess we will eat at Georgio's and then go to Carrilon. My old friends Bill and Rae are coming. This is the Charlotte gang that ran around together until we retired and scattered
every where.

Those houses and barns are big and look like RICH people own them. I see your girl friend in the window. Better watch that or Sherry will get you. Hope you get all fixed and can be on your way. I bet it does look lonely Shirl but just think you can rest up for his next stop in the Carolinas.

That front yard looks very inviting, the campfire does too. Sounds like sabotage, that's what happens when you high-tail it out of the RV park without paying...ha. Have a safe and fun trip. Shirl is making up for lost time by meeting up with old friends...ha. Take care, Sheila
