My Girl back on the trail, checking her feet and heels.
This is 'Just Jack', he is headed toward Springer Mt. in Georgia, he has come about 350-400 miles. Sherry asked him about Mahoosic Notch, (reported the worst mile of the trail) This kids response, I loved that part, my favorite so far.
This is an example of a 'Trail Angel'. This container is labeled 'For Thru Hikers only'. It is filled with soft drinks, cakes and candy. What a thrill to a guy or gal who has had nothing but Ramein noodles or p-nut butter for the last ten days. That is why they are called angels.
My favorite 'behind'. The saying is true, 'If you are not the leader, the view never changes!" This guy just doesn't mind being behind THAT!
We just happened to be climbing toward Mt. Hayes. IT is across the Andrascoggin River from our RV park. That is the park in the distance.
This is the view from our RV, the last picture is taken from one of these rock formations you see on the Mountain.
Here is my Steady girl, sitting lookng across the valley at her RV.
Just some roots on the trail.
Now these are blue berries, but not Blueberries. They were real shiney.
I love this fern, and the red mushroom in the center caught my eye.
WE ran into this guy, he is Sir Richard from the United Kingdom, out for a royal stroll.
That was our day, Sherry's feet seem to be doing well. Today was alittle over four miles.
I wanted to show this. I am amazed, when a white Birch rots it falls apart just like it was sawed into. They lay around like firewood. I am used to wood splitting.

We are still around Gorham, NH. Thanks for coming this way,
Nite Shipslog
PS:
The graveside service just barely finished, when there was massive clap of thunder, followed by a tremendous bolt of lightning, accompanied by even more thunder rumbling in the distance..

The little old man looked at the pastor and calmly said, "Well, she's there."

Great photos. I am so glad that Sherrys feet are holding up. Nothing worse than sore feet, naturally, but to try to hike on them must have been very painful. Be careful and take care.
Glad that Sherry's feet are doing ok now. Thanks for sharing your pictures and your day. Helen
Can't remember where I read it, but it said: if one asks you to walk a mile for you, invite him to walk two with you.
It makes me glad to see that two people have found eachother, walking through forests and life. Glad to have found the 'shipslog' as well to follow the trail.
Wish you a nice start into the weekend and happy, healthy feet as well.
Have been following your trek, glad your Honeys Feet and ankles are doing OK, we been busy here entertaining the folks an cooking out and we are back going to the YMCA 3 times a week again, I had to get back on the Cardiac Machines after a set back and Anna is on the Incline ramp and we are holding our own, I am back up to 2 miles a day, BUT my mile takes me 30 minutes, honey does it in 20 minutes!! You 2 take care!!
You two meet some interesting people when you're hiking.
I'm glad you got Santa back on the right trail, we wouldn't want him to get back to the north pole late. That would have been funny if he had worn a santa hat. I hope Sherry's feet stay pain free. Have a great weekend, Sheila
I like the idea of the Trail Angel; what a great find that must be while hiking! I have to say "Santa's" picture kind of looked like you; I thought "boy, Jack is really growing his beard out"
take care both of you!
betty
Great photos! It's nice to see the Trail Angels taking care of fellow hikers!
Glad to read that Sherry's feet are doing better. Great picture and I to thought the man with the beard was you. Take care, jean
I missed this one..I like to hear about the people that are walking the trail how they help
each other and stick together.
