It gets darker in the valleys sooner, the longer you are away, the more you forget. We did a lot of hiking in the mountains. Once or twice we decided to camp on the mountain tops. The views are great and the air is clean, but usually there is no water source. All of a sudden when you are about out of water, you think of this little fact. Most shelters are on the mountain side or in the valleys. Ha! Speaking of water. We have the mountain starting straight up off our patio, and a beautiful little brook just in front of the motor home.
Most shelters are on the mountain side or in the valleys. We have had rain all day today and have stayed inside. Sherry has butter beans, lettuce slaw, cornbread and salmon patties for supper. Smells good in here.
Our friend, Mary Ann from up on the mountain, is not feeling too well, hopefully we will get together before we leave. Sherry talked to her on the phone, and her sister happens to attend at the church we are scheduled to do a program for the seniors. We hope to see her there.
WE took a short walk to enjoy the outdoors after the rain stopped

Older women are forthright and honest.. They'll tell you right off if you are a jerk, if you are acting like one. You don't ever have to wonder where you stand with her.

That sounds like a good place to camp. Bet those snakes are crawling around since it is warm now.(Shivver) That supper sounds delicious. I hope your friend feels better soon. Helen
Dinner sounds good. We had pork chops, pinto beans and cornbread with a side of mashed tators last night so I still have cornbread for my buttermilk. Looks like a pretty area where you are camping. You and Sherry take care, Sheila
I can smell those salmon patties from here. Sounds like a beautiful place to be.
It sounds like you are having a fine vacation in spite of a little rain. Sherry sounds like my kind of cook. You cannot go wrong with cornbread and salmon. It's been a while since I've had the butter beans so guess what my lunch will be tomorrow. Hope Mary Ann is feeling better so you can get a visit in. Have a great week, you two, and try to behave.

Looks like you are parked in a beautiful spot.
Hope Mary Ann get to feeling better. I always
loved the mountains. We had rain here but will
be better tomorrow. I guess I had better go
over and see if MJ wonders where you are. I know
she misses you.

Hi Jack and Sherry...I love salmon patties..don't know why I don't make them more often...oh yes...I remember...nobody likes them but Him and me...sheesh!!! oh well...the cornbread is always eaten...and the leftovers are rarely thrown to the buzzards!!!! Your little camping hideaway sounds so nice...now the hiking??? hmmm....it is nice when it doesn't take much to keep folks happy!!! Hope your friend is better today!!! God Bless...hugs...Ora
Love those mountains - rain or shine! Just have to be sure you are camped up the hill a ways when heavy rains come or you could have your whole camp washed downstream. I smelled that fishcake cooking all the way over the hill. Loved it Sherry!
