This entry is on Saturday. Since it is the weekend I am not working too hard. Trying to get the stuff ready to go to Winston Salem to work. Maybe I can get everything together for the trip.
Derrick’s garden is growing like crazy. (Derrick is Mark’s right hand man now) He planted the little garden near the pool. (Picture later, I forgot one)
Sherry and I towed a Ford Probe, that has been in the middle of the outfield of Mark’s ball field for a couple years, to a more inconspicuous place. Now if he will burn the trash he has in the infield, we can have the ball field back.
The Probe has eluded my repairs. Maybe I can get to it. Maybe I can find out why the fuse is blowing, without what we call a smoke test. A smoke test is when you put a fuse in that cannot blow and see it something else blows or works. Ha! I am not crazy about working on cars that are not from the fifties and below. Hahahaha!

"Belay my last." Is a message heard over the ships intercom system (1MC), meaning forget my last command, do not do it, forget it. After swimming pool length twice, I told Sherry, "Belay my brag from back when I was sailor, I could not swim home now." Sherry asked me several times, what would I do if my ship sank or was sunk. My answer was always, I'd swim home, don't worry about it. Well today I realized I am out of shape and 40 years older, so I would have to find some flotsam or a boat. Swimming a thousand mile is out!!!! LOL
I jumped in the pool today. MJ jumped in once, The photomate did not get the picture.

She gets down to step #2 real quick then stops.

Luke and Derrick were playing with the remote control boats later. That is Derrick talking to Sherry over the fence. Luke Vegas on the diving board.

Looked like fun, I would have had a ball with a toy like that. Probably thought I was something special.

Derrick and Luke continued to play with remote control boats in the pool.

Oh ... I'm so jealous! I would LOVE to have a pool to jump into. Back in the day ~ I used to be a pretty good swimmer. I once worked at this resort on a lake and there was an island about a quarter mile from the shoreline. On my midmorning half hour break from kitchen work I would take a quick swim out to the island and back and then go back to work. If I was to try that now they'd be calling in the coast guard to scrape that fat lady off the bouy 50 feet from shore.
Thanks for the post and conjuring up a good memory.

It's been a while since I've swam a long distance. Much like you, I never worried much about going overboard, but if it were to happen today, I'd hope the shore was less than a few hundred yards away.

Saw your photos today and I just put my bathingsuit on to go for a swim myself.

I exercise in the pool daily, however, I don't think I could do it in the ocean for any great distance!

Great Post! Is that your dog?

Hugs, Rose

That is just a great picture of everything!!! I don't know if Spunky would get in the pool or not.

We didn't evolve from apes. According to the theory of evolution, we have a common ancestor. God said he created man last, so why can't I believe in both?

BRAGGING A LITTLE, I WAS GOOD AT SWIMMING QUITE A DISTANCE UNDERWATER.
DURING MILITARY TRAINING THERE WAS A HUGE NATURAL SPRING FED POOL NEAR LAUREL MISSISSIPPI.
GOOD TIMES. sam

What a joy to see. It's now about a year since last I went to swim. Thank you for the memories. Luckily there's still too much work which prevents me from it. Please have a wonderful start into the new week.

I enjoyed reading this post - and thinking of the good times when I sneaked off to go swimming. Had to sneak off - Mom wouldn't let me go til I learned how to swim! :D I did eventually learn, and was able to swim well enough to get through boot camp in the Coast Guard. Still a bit cool for it here in the creek...but I saw a few hardy souls swimming in the Hiwassee River when I crossed it yesterday. Glad to see you still have the stamina!!

that pool looks mighty inviting! glad you and MJ are enjoying the time in it; I'm hoping the water is not too cold! maybe it is just time to let the Probe rest in peace and not try to revive it??

bet the next few weeks will be fun ones with all the excitement of graduation etc :)
