Just when is illegal, illegal?

I don’t know about you, but our neighbors to the South are beginning to worry me. We are hearing of many murders along our USA/Mex border.

I understand very well why anyone in Mexico would like to live in the USA. Living conditions at their worst are better than the average living conditions south of the border. After visiting there I told Sherry, “They would be sending me back across that border every day until I made it.” But I would still be illegal and know it.

I have visited many countries (in excess of 20) and I have never felt I had the right to tell them how to run their country. So it bugs me for someone illegally in this country to try to tell the USA what laws are good and bad. Our president has no right to tell another country what laws to put into effect, and vice versa, no foreign leader has a right to tell the USA what laws are good or bad. As far as rights go, I do not think anyone here illegally has any rights under our constitution. I will readily admit they should be treated humanely as they are sent home.

While in another country (and in the USA) I have been asked for my ID. We spent the night in a motel a few days ago, they asked for picture ID. It has never bothered me to show it. Now if I was illegal it would bother the heck out of me.

I am for the new AZ law and any other that might cut down on human and drug trafficking. What I am mostly amazed at are the Political leaders who cannot understand the term ‘illegal’ and most of them are attorneys.

Every year a few terrorist are caught crossing that border. So if we are catching some, some are getting in. That is not funny to think about. There is Guilty and there is Innocent.

Reminds me of a line on Amos and Andy where Kingfish was talking to the lawyer, Calhoun.
“You gotta defend me, I ain’t guilty!” KingFish.
“I don’t know if I can king fish, you say you are innocent?”
“Shore am, innocent as a new born baby!”
“I don’t know kingfish, I ain’t never defended an innocent man before!”

The murders on the border are increasing from fights between the rival drug lords. So let’s close the border, except for well protected check points.

The rules are there in every country I have been to, cross at authorized check points, and it everything is in order they have no problem with you coming to visit.

This is the Independence Season. WE have millions that have fought for us to have this freedom. Let’s remember them at this time of the year.

Thanks for coming by the log,
Nite Shipslog

JACK, IT APPEARS WE HAVE A PRESIDENT THAT IS WILLING TO TOLERATE ILLEGALS ENTERING.
OTHERWISE, WHY NOT GIVE THE GO-AHEAD TO STOP THE ILLEGAL ENTERING WHICH IS DOING GREAT HARM ?
SUCH A CHEAP STINKING WAY TO TRY TO GET VOTES BY NOT ENFORCING LAWS THAT COULD STOP ILLEGALS.

OUR CONGRESS PEOPLE APPEAR TO BE SICK IN THE HEAD WHEN ALLOWING THESE CONDITIONS CONCERNING ILLEGALS AS WELL AS FINANCIAL STUPIDITY. sam

Guess that the same could be said for Greece, being a border country of Europe. Already past four, hard to think of the future years indeed.
Please have you all a nice Friday.
p.s.: am still thinking about the letters.

You are hitting the nail right on the head. Illegals have no right to tell us how to govern, they have no right to ask for protection,
no right to ask for 'freedoms' in the USA Until, they too, become citizens who HONOR our FLAG and What it stands for. Shame on them for coming here and being demanding of anything they have not EARNED. What a screwed up country we live in thanks to our very own leadership. Good Grief. Lord Help Us...He is the only ONE that can. Nuff Said...I'm hyperventilating...

I thought the President took an oath that he would uphold the laws of the United States of America when he took office!?! What a shame that he wants the DOJ to pursue legal action against the state of Arizona for trying to protect our border with Mexico. I'm alarmed at the large number of people who seem to feel it's o.k. - And yes, we do have a world-wide problem of IDP's (Internationally Displaced Persons) who are moving across borders within the continent of Africa - working their way up to Europe through Morrocco, Spain and Portugal - then making the jump to Canada and the USA. It's not a problem unique to us - but it is unique that our own President seems to support these illegal activities!

We used to cross the border at Laredo about every three to four months. We don't even look that direction anymore.

totally agree with you, Jack, and I support that Arizona law. I am glad that people want to come to America because of what America has to offer, but do it legally. Told son don't even consider going to Tijuana, too dangerous south of the border these days

I lost my comment some where and it is for the best. I do agree with you on everything, except it is going to be a mishmash of states setting Their own laws..

I agree Jack...it's a worrisome future. So many people work long and hard to come here legally, and we need to enforce our laws. Have a great weekend. Hope to see pics from the wedding. Stay cool, Sheila
