Our stay in the Detroit area is nearly over. This has been great, except for the small incident of the wind. During that fiasco I fell and bruised my ribs. My doctor is the blood pressure machine at Wal-Mart and the internet. In my years of living I have learned a few things. There are something’s a REAL doctor cannot do, one is they cannot perform a miracle, they cannot cure a cold, and they cannot fix a pulled, stained, or bruised muscle. Only time and patience and trying not to make it worse will take care of that.
They can prescribe pain medicine. I cannot see the logic of getting a prescription filled for 800 mg Ibuprophen, why not take 4 of the 200 mg pills from the shelf? Anyway the internet says nothing major can be done except rest and no straining that area. They give 72 hrs to 2 months for it to heal. Since 72 hours has past, I assume it will take awhile, HA! Last night I gave some serious consideration of heading to western Michigan and staying there a couple weeks while it healed more. Now that I have had time to consider, I think we will try to drive on around lake Michigan. Never been up in that area, what I see of it on the net seems to call to me. If I am not a little better by Wed. afternoon we might just head for Buchanan, MI for a couple weeks, and then continue. We aren’t on any kind of schedule.
If I heal up more, it would be neat to fish for some crappie in the GREAT LAKES, I think they have them here. I will have to check the rules and buy a battery for our little motor. I would be afraid to keep any other fish; you need a lawyer to fish anymore because of the different state regulations.
Sometimes I forget, unless we have an appointment, we have no schedule to keep. It makes life simple. The weather is good and life is great. I think I will sleepin in the morning.
We walked out to a new (to us) restaurant, Tim Horton’s. We got a tuna sandwich and a bowl of soup. It was pretty good.
Back up to Wal-mart, we can walk to these places. Sherry got Cabbage and Salmon. She is cooking for Johnny and Candace before we leave. Sherry fixes the country meal for the city folk who don’t get it often. Pintos, cabbage, squash, cornbread and salmon patties.
(RV'r's use all kinds of living space. This couple pulled in beside us, backed a classic jaguar out of this car hauler, and covered it up. The the ramp was raised for a porch floor, an awning pulled out for a roof, and screen snapped in place to make a screen in porch. They put their grill out and cooked supper. I did yell that it was illegal to smell up the place!) Nothing in a CG better than the smell of campfire and BBG beef.
Today is Sherry's dad's Birthday he was born July 27, 1902. RIP Wiley Aaron harris he has been gone many years now, leave it to a girl to keep up with it, that is nice.
Thanks for coming this way,
Nite Shipslog.
PS:
MY Wife’s advice to young ladies:
Don't imagine you can change a man - unless he's in diapers.
Remember a sense of humor does not mean that you tell him jokes, it means that you laugh at his.
(she is such a kidder)

After that fall, and bruised.......you take it easy you hear??? And, that is an order! You probably should have an xray to make sure you didn't break any bones!
Hugs, Rose
Jack, I agree with Rose. Even close to my age or a little farther along it is so easy to break a bone. I think a rib bone is to close to the heart and lungs to mess around, with. It will take some time for that to heal even if you just bruised your self. Now listen to Dr. Lucy and Rose. I fell down a flight of steps and was a mess and I had to use ice. I was younger, and young was in my mid forties. Be Careful you 2.
Do take care of yourself and give it time to heal ~ do you find driving painful ~ a nice two week stop someplace should see you back to good health ~
Still laughing at "Don't imagine you can change a man unless he's in diapers" I thought that really was very funny ~ thanks for the smile ~ Ally x
I do hope you are feeling better soon and that you have self diagnosed yourself correctly. Being on the same sort of schedule that you are I realize the blessing of being able to do what you want when you want. Take your time and get better. The farmers' almanac says it won't snow here till just before Thanksgiving this year.
I am sorry you hurt your ribs. If might not
be a bad idea to go to the ER room and get an
X-ray just to make sure one is not broken.
I know nothing can be done but it would be
peace of mind. I told you we are getting old
maybe you will believe me. HA HA
Oh,that's pretty bad jack!please do takecare,i will be sad if y0u,sherry,lucy and jack will n0t in a g0od c0nditi0n,i may n0t be able to update quite often but I surely read y0ur p0st 0nce my c0mputer is d0ne.

I spent some time in Michigan a few years ago. Loved all the huge vegetable gardens there and of course the coastline of Lake Michigan. Dunes National Park is nice too. There was a quaint little town that we loved but I can't remember the name of it!
I was afraid you might have hurt yourself in that nasty fall. Do take care. My fall down the cabin steps 12 yrs. ago was the beginning of my hip and back problems. The body compensates and before you know it, the whole thing aches. I agree with your dear sister, you should have at least an xray for peace of mind. Maybe you have more going on there than you think, Dr. Jack. If your ribs are still bothering you if you plan on fishing from a boat in big water, PLEASE be careful. The big waters of the Great Lakes can turn brutal in minutes. If you're up to it, as long as you're already that far from home, and ONLY IF you're feeling like more driving, go to the top of the U.P. and watch the ships go through the locks of Sault St. Marie. I guarantee you will find it a once in a lifetime-wanna return, trip.
Hey, Jack and Sherry, IF you do travel more, and you head to WI, you are always welcome.
BlessYourHearts and will keep your health in our prayers.
Jack take Dar's warning that the Great Lakes
can turn brutal in minutes if you go fishing.
Don't want to have to call the Coast Guard out
to rescue you and Sherry.
Shirl
Hey Jack and Sherry! Go fishing - but call an old Coastie before and have him join you on the lake! You know the USCG always takes care of the Sailors when they get in trouble on the water. LoL... Seriously, I do hope you heal up quickly and that there are no broken bones. Sat by Charlie Matthews today and we talked about you. I also talked about you two to C.L. and Joyce. They have bought a bigger Motor Home and now plan to travel more.
Many getting well wishes ! And yes, agree totally about the advice. Please have you all a great Thursday.
Sorry about your accident. If you end up needing medical care, a long-time friend is CEO of Crittendon Hospital in the Detroit area.
