I ENJOY THIS BLOG STUFF

wi2007ham

Sunday morning we sat having our half biscuit with jelly at McDonalds (a Sunday morning ritual before church with us) and I looked out the window where Sherry was pointing.  It was a Wisconsin tag on a car. My mind races to Park Falls and some wonderful folk. To Milwaukee and ‘Honey I’m Home’.

(We get the plain biscuit on Sun. Morn but I could not find a picture of just a biscuit)

When we are on the road and a truck passes from Nebraska, I think automatically of JOE, ok really I think of Lucy then Joe. LOL trucks pass us, every so often we pass one of them. But eventually one will be from where we have been or know someone.

Folks would be amazed at the conversations that pop up because of car tags or trucks. All pleasant talks, when a truck passes from San Antonio, I always say, reckon they know Paula and John? We were passed last year by a truck from Cleveland, TN. Than one brought up quite a few folk.  I was just contacted by Reggie. He and his wife have moved to Cleveland, evidently a good place to retire.

We had a ball talking about Opp, Alabama, after a truck passed from there. That is Sheila’s home town. Her Mom & Dad are there and we had the privilege of having dinner with them once. Alabama brings up Helen, Jun and Elvis also.

When a truck passes that has NEW ORLEANS on it, we have an hour of wanting to go to the French Quarter and have Beneighs and coffee. And since meeting ‘Y’ she comes up. One of our first trips to New Orleans, we had as our guide Fred & Frances. Fred being in the Coast Guard at the time.

In a park when I see someone walking a Corgi, yeah that looks like Betty’s Koda. See a New Yorker and we think of Gary and Anna Mae. And a KY tag brings up a slew of folk.

This could go on to Florida, and it brings up folk like Glenda, Jimmie, Rose and the Brit. I know I have missed some, but I couldn’t get that off my mind after the Wisconsin tag.  Isn’t it funny how just one thing brings a flow of memories, good ones too, in this case.

I missed some, but you can bet on the road you are not missed!!!

Thanks for coming this way.

You can't find the pic of just the biscuit because most people eat the whole big breakfast. I think you two are the only people in the world who share one McDonalds biscuit. No wonder you can afford to eat cornbread with milk too.
I adore that Mercedes. ~Mary

I think it is fun to see a personalized tag and try to figure out what it says. Wonder if they had to get an OK from Wisconsin to put all those names on the tag..Tags do tell a story.

I love McDonalds Bacon, egg and cheese biscuit meals, but I don't have a Sunday morning routine that includes them. Thankfully I only have one once in a great while. Maybe that is why they are such a treat. I saw a personalized plate today that said BIG RED. Of course it was on a red truck but I thought how fun it would be if I had one that said Lil' Red on my little red car. It's pretty chilly here in Ohio. I bet you are counting down the days till Florida and the cruise.

1st - How does anyone eat HALF of anything?
2nd - that was so sweet of you to think of us (and Thom was impressed that you spelled his name right :))
3rd - You and Sherry cross my mind often, always with fond thoughts. Safe travels my friends.

I'm almost sure if it's someone from Opp they have heard about us if they don't know, lol. I use to know everyone (are it seem I did)now since I retired I don't know all that many. You and Sherry take care and I know you can't wait until you get on that Ship. Have enough fun for all of us, Jean.

Tags are the same for me, always a thrill seeing one from Alabama...but like you others remind me of someone or somewhere I have been. Yes, we are still alive...busy, busy, busy moving out of the apartment, now we are busy trying to get things unpacked and put away at home...I think it took a toll on me and I caught a bug yesterday, still running a little fever but better. I'll be so glad when it is all done. Will get a new blog out as soon as I have time to think...ha. Take care, love ya, Sheila

what a cute corgi picture and thanks for the shout out! I like the Wisconsin tag! Isn't it neat how something we see can trigger a memory of one of our blogging buddies? That's why I can never stay away from it for too long, miss my friends! It amazes me you and Sherry share a biscuit between you! They do make delicious ones don't they?

Yes, Jack, I enjoy reading the tags on vehicles that pass me on the road. Well...I used to. These days I find myself squinting to see if I can read it. Maybe it's because people drive faster and my eyes can't focus that quick? ☻ Oh...BTW, Reggie and I have been friends for a long time. He's a Radio Amateur also. Sorry about (aww shucks, can't remember his first name) Brother Woods being sick. Which reminded me, do you know what they call pastors in Germany? German Shepherds! ☺

Interesting entry. Next time you pass a Jack's you should get a country ham and biscuit. I know that is what country folks were raised on. Ken is the oddball who has to have a sausage with his biscuit. I know neither one is healthy but we only do that occasionally. Thanks for remembering us when AL comes to mind. Helen

Jack, you and Sherry are SO sweet to think of us.
I read your entries to Bill and he enjoys them as much as I. So sorry for having been out of the picture for awhile on the blog...busy, crazy, complicated summer. All is well here and you two are thought of so often. Even Sy misses you. He just mentioned about the sleeping frog and Magic Jack...you are loves of our lives.
