Day Dreaming, what is it worth?

      Daydreaming-daydreaming-32448204-554-806

We don’t spend any money on sports. That is I do not golf, tennis, shoot pool, hunt (anymore), don’t own a boat, four wheeler, nor a horse. I have never bought a bingo card.(I always wonder how folks keep track of 4-8 cards during one game at the RV parks where they play for money or prizes) I no longer smoke, so at 2 packs a day I am saving what, $35 a week?

I have friends who would never buy a lottery ticket, THAT IS GAMBLING. My Sherry will not buy one. I have no problem with anyone’s conscience as long as they don’t feel they need to decide for me.

Now, I am a story teller. I have written four novels, to do that you must be a day dreamer. I buy a lottery ticket fairly often. There are times I dream of what I would do with the money if I hit ‘the billion in one’ chance or what ever it is.

Hey, I am not ignorant to the fact I have a better chance of being hit by lightening, than winning.  Well since I have been hit by lightening once, I could win, right?

Being deaf, I probably dream more than many folk. There are times on a walk alone, I dream. On some of our trips and the traffic is light (since I cannot converse)  I dream. I get a real kick of dreaming of ensuring a good life for our family then helping folk or causes I believe in.

Now in my humble opinion, that is not a waste of a dollar or even ten.  I get ideas for blog entries, book plots while day dreaming.  I was one of those boys who lay in the grass feeling a kite tugging on the string and while watching the clouds I saw animals and other forms in the sky. I day dreamed way back then in 1952 of traveling the world and fighting for causes that would free the world, I was the ultimate mercenary.

So I will continue to buy the lottery ticket. I may never win more than the $78 I won in the Arizona Lottery, but I will keep on trying and day dreaming, because DREAMS have no price.

Thanks for stopping by. If you do not dream, do yourself a favor and dream POSITIVE!

PS:

I dreamed of the perfect life and things were going well. I dreamed of the perfect family, I thought WE had it, but then some things went ‘sideways’. But HEY I still dream of a great family in the end, maybe not perfect, but a great one.

HOWEVER, I did get the perfect lady. Don’t you love it when a dream comes true!<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<^>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I dreamed of this:

I got this:

(I didn’t complain because it had Sherry-o-matic shifting)

Nice Info, I am a dreamer, does ot hurt and does not cost, interesting you said if you smoked 2 packs of cigs it was $35, here in New York State 2 packs of Cigs is almost $20.00 a day, $140.00 a week, $560.00 a month.

That's a lot of money going up in smoke.

Glad I gave them up.

Take Care,
Gary & Anna Mae.

Cigs are now up to $8.-$10 a pack these days. Glad I stopped smoking in 2007. For health reasons and it is a great savings as well.

I never believed in gambling. It is such a waste of hard earned money.

I have on an occasion purchased a Lottery ticket but I'm not one to go to Vegas!

Love the picture of you and Sherry.

Hugs to my favorite couple!

How I wish my 2nd (and 3rd!) grade teachers could read this. Yup, those olden report cards contain some (unflattering) remarks about my tendency to day-dream!
... and I still enjoy it, particularly when all the chatter and miscellany starts to intrude.

I've nothing against playing the lottery -- but keep forgetting to buy a ticket. LOL!

Like this entry Jack and also the picture of Sherry and you. I just read in the paper someone here won a large amount on a scratch-off. I don't think I would want to advertise it if I won. John and I don't spend money on sports or bingo games and such either. How ever I do have one vice, I get a 30 minute massage every Thursday morning when I can from John's ex-daughter-in-law.

I did get to retire and don't have to work anymore. That was a dream come true. There were times I thought it would never happen. In my opinion you and Sherry are living the dream life.

I buy a lottery ticket every once in awhile myself. Not a lot or a big amount, but I do - I have made $90 once and only once. I too am pretty frugal with my money!

Dreaming doesn't cost a dime and it makes the world a better place. So dream on.

Good thing you gave up smoking, Jack, its an expensive hobby these days (and as you know, terrible for one's health). Always good to dream; I think when we stop dreaming, we stop living.
