Hystericks and emergencies.

WHY???
Why do men's clothes have buttons on the right while women's clothes have buttons on the left?  see the end of post..
Answer ****

I have never (before today) deleted a comment whether positive nor negative. But last night I did delete a nice comment that contained an attachment to Korean Porn.  I have had ‘spammers’ get thru with ads, I don’t like it but let them stay.

One of the big problems with living in Florida is of course the Hurricane season.  We have enjoyed many hurricane seasons and dealt with at least 5 of them.  I usually do not remember names, but last year's was Matthew.  I remember because we have a Grandson Matthew.

The human population amazes me.  Being raised in North Carolina I can remember very few heavy snows. The most that happens is the roads are slick for a couple days, but even with a heavy snow things are back to normal in at the MOST, three days. However, let the forecast call for snow, 1 inch or twelve, and the store shelves were emptied of Bread, eggs and milk.  Of course that was before bottled water was the ‘THING’. Now bottled water is added to that list.  Also the gas stations are inundated with folks afraid there will be no gas.

In Florida I cannot understand why, residents who are very concerned, do not stock up on ‘gallons’ of bottled water at the beginning of Hurricane Season and store it. Personally, if we did not have the motor home, where we store 50 gallons of tap water, I would save milk jugs and save as many gallons of tap water I think would be needed.

Please forgive me if you are a bottled water enthusiast, but I may die early (I hope not) but we use tap water everywhere we go unless me or my girl are upset at the taste or smell. In some parts of  Arizona we did buy water. Years ago if it had been available we would have bought water in Biloxi, Mississippi and most parts of Florida.  Presently we have had no problem with Florida.

If someone buys water I am not offended. We keep bottled water in the motor home and in our home in Florida for visitors.

I just have never seen the need (for me)  for bottled water.  We are filling our landfills with plastic, that is for sure.
That is not a soap box. I don’t berate folks who drink bottled water, I just do not feel a personal need to do it.

Thanks for waiting for the OLD MAN, it takes me a while to catch up with society!

NOW WHY? ****BECAUSE
When buttons were invented, they were very expensive and worn primarily by the rich. Since most people are right-handed, it is easier to push buttons on the right through holes on the left. Because wealthy women were dressed by maids, dressmakers put the buttons on the maid's right!

I agree that there must be some kind of list for people to have during this season! lol I drink filtered water at home - from my own filter. :)

It's amazes me how some people react to the weather. I wouldn't be stocking up, I'd be moving to safer ground. It's true we can't do much about the weather, but do the best we can with what we get. Here the worst we usually have to worry about is in the winter when the roads get icy and the snow mounts up but we just stay in where it's warm and safe. Hurricanes are something else...they cause a lot of serious damage. I saw two of your posts come up this morning and I couldn't leave a comment on the other one, but this one seems to be working. Hope all remains good at your house and praying for all in the path of the storm.

That's so interesting about the buttons. I wonder why garment manufacturers still abide by that olden custom?

We grew up drinking tap water. Only in Florida (near Punta Gorda) was the sulfur 'aroma' and taste nearly unbearable. Our water in Goodyear isn't awful, per se, but I've become accustomed to the bottled stuff, and we have to use a filter for the coffee maker because the calcium levels are so bad.

You raise a good point about the landfills.

We have two filter systems for our water, plus a filtered water pitcher. It works for us and we drink water by the gallons. I hope you still are staying safe and your FL home also. How about the boys, are they by you also. My prayers for them if they stayed south. The button thing makes sense but I agree that it should have changed by now.....oh well, another thing we've gotten used to.
love n' hugs from up north where I worked hard cleaning out some of the gardens. Oh my, did I ever get more cucumbers than I thought so they all go into pickles of one sort or another.......lol, one qt. jar has 60 gerkins in it...tiny cucs. That's our Christmas jar. lol
Have a grateful and safe week
