The here and now: Merry Christmas
We are gypsies, but we do have a home town. We actually still have a home there, but we don’t live there except in emergencies. I guess taking Christmas gifts back to the family is an emergency. We may be absent for a few days, unless I get the remote computer working.
We are looking forward to seeing friends, Son Jack and all the grands and great grands that live in NC. We met with Mark on Saturday for his birthday, and to give him his Christmas gift.
We mailed gifts to the Grands out in Utah and Oregon, so they will get them about the time of the ones in NC.
Traveling as a military guy was simple. Everything you owned was in that ‘Sea bag’ you had on your shoulder. You also had a hand carry, referred to affectionately as your ‘AWOL’ bag. I do not like traveling without the RV for about the same reason, all the essentials are already there. I always forget to take something. We do not like packing suitcases. We are so used to having our life with us in the coach.
Anyway to you landlocked friends out there, enjoy the season and if you shop, do it early and enjoy the process of giving. This is the BEST time of the year. Life is good!

PS: Reference the "55 Chevy. I drove one over to Hawthorne St. to ask Sherry for the first date, same colors, and a 4 door.

You kids have a safe trip. I get confused where your at sometimes but I gues you put the meaning in “Home is where you park it”.

Oh yes, it is the time of year for family. Hope you enjoy the trip and avoid the snow. I hear some spots have a a lot more than others there in North Carolina. Have a Merry Christmas !
I know y'all are far more accustomed to driving in poor conditions ... but that coverage on the Weather channel is sobering. Saying a prayer for your safe travels and good times!
