Sonny and the Ramp!

I threatened to let him fly a couple times. We had a good trip, and he thanked me for the ramp and bragged on it's construction. He was glad it did not fall when we got on it. LOL

Today we went to visit Sonny at Rehab. He was up in a wheel chair and Vickie was combing his hair. Sorta makes you mad when you don’t even carry a comb and someone older than you has hair!!!
Some one mentioned last night, ‘Do you know the likeness to heaven and a balc man?’
“No.” says I , “but I am sure you will tell me!”
“Yep, there will be no parting there!”

I laughed but I didn’t think it was so funny. LOL amazing how folks make fun of us handicaps! Hahahahahahahahaha!
Anyway we went in and they said they were just about to take a trip for Sonny to see his new ramp. So, we got him in a car and headed out. He was able to get in and out of the wheel chair into the car himself. That is a tremendous improvement.
We forgot the camera, but Sherry thought of the phone camera. We have never used it to send an e-mail to the computer, but we got it done. So I have included the picture of Sonny on his new ramp. Now he already wants a power scooter! Some folks cannot be satisfied. Hahahaha! He is in good spirits and I am honestly surprised that he has progressed to this point. Four months ago I would have given 100 to 1 odds he would never leave the hospital. But did I mention that my buddy is very stubborn. LOL
Hope you are having a good weekend.
Thanks for coming by the log

Isn't it amazing that Sonny is actually going home. I remember well when I truly did not think he was going to make it. The ramp looks great. I know Sherry and you are so happy for him. Will he be able to be home permanently, or more in rehab and visits home?

I'm so glad Sonny is doing so much better. I bet he enjoyed the visit home. The ramp looks great. You know they're just jealous of your pretty shaped head. Take care, Sheila

Ramp looks good. It is hard to believe Sonny
has come a long way..I know Vickie and Steve
are happy about their Dad. That is a close family and they love their Dad. Glad you
could use your cell camera. I would know how
to use mine. I can barely use a computer. Ha.

I'm so happy to hear he can get from the wheelchair to the car on his own. It is not only a great physical improvement, but a wonderful mental boost as well. I hope I don't sound silly when I say the ramp looks beautiful, but I've seen some crappy looking ramps & that one does indeed look beautiful. ~Mary

Jack you did a wonderful job building a ramp for Sonny. I'm so happy he has improved so much. I'm sure being able to get out of rehab to go home for awhile and breathing fresh air felt so good to him and I'm sure it felt good for all of you to share in that special moment with him. I hope he's able to go home to his daughters house soon and sit out on the deck and enjoy life a little.
Love ya'll
Debbie

PS: I hope this comment goes through. I tried leaving comments the other night and finally gave up on it.
