Sherry and Day Light Savings Time (DST)

New Folder (2) 041

(The sweet little girl on the far right is Sherry!)

Daylight saving time . Most areas of North America and Europe observe daylight saving time (DST), while most areas of Africa and Asia do not.

The above is from Wikipedia on the net.  Blue and red colors use DST, the grey do not.

I have come to the conclusion that The Americas and Europe just enjoy complicating the lives of their citizens. LOL

Hawaii and most of Arizona and parts of Indiana do not observe DST. Sometimes I think I should be a citizen of Arizona, they are independent thinking folk.

Time changes have bothered me only once or twice in my life. Aboard ship the clocks are changed at 0200 (2 AM). So if you have the ‘mid watch’ a duty assignment between in mid night and 0400, you are fortunate enough to get an extra hour of watch in the fall. Sailors don’t like that.

Sherry, BM  (Before Me)

Twice in our married lives we have done something funny due to DST. Once in Norfolk we went to church and no one was there and for the life of me, I could not figure what was wrong.  Then about 10 years later in Albany, GA, we again went early, but almost immediately we realized what it was, because we had done it before.

(This was the wild and wonderful girl)

I am not a fan of DST, but according to the government, we save millions of dollars in electric bills with the change.  I gripe, but it hasn’t seemed to make any difference.

NOW, JUST SO YOU WILL KNOW, THE WHOLE WORLD IS CELEBRATING SHERRY’S SPECIAL DAY BY CHANGING THEIR CLOCKS!!

NOV 6! That is the answer to the question, “when is Sherry’s birthday?”

Once  and only once, I asked her “what year?”

“Every Year, (dummy)!” I haven't asked that one again!!!

Happy birthday to Sherry!! I hope you get spoiled rotten on your special day, Sherry!!

I sure liked the extra hour of sleep I got today with the end of DST, but not the early dark hours later this afternoon. Sometimes I think they should just leave it all alone.....

Enjoy the day you two!

Happy Birthday from Athens, Greece; where time was changed already last week, which would make things additionally complicated.
Like the autumn change much better than the spring one, as it is difficult to get the kid to sleep an hour early ;)

Dragging up the rear here saying hope you had a nice birthday Sherry. Love that 49' Ford. My Daddy had one just like it. John didn't wake me this time to watch his clock I bought for him that changes automaticly. It is so funny to see it running fast trying to catch up with the time. For the life of me I can't figure out how it knows what to do and when.

Happy Belated Birthday Sherry!

I just loved all the photos! You sure were a beautiful baby and a now a beautiful woman. I understand why Jack keeps you close by. He certainly would not want to be too far away from his Sweetheart.
