I am not sure if my folks had a camera when i was born because this is about the earliest photo of me, I like it.That is Shirl with me. Big brothers were off in the war. That is a '41 chevy the year about 1943.
I am sure several of them were celebrated while I was deployed or aboard ship on a cruise. But this one? I cannot remember a better one. Had I known it would be so good, I might have gotten here sooner. LOL
We sometimes take time to reminisce, this morning and tonight were two of those times. In my arms she feels so right. We take time to say how fortunate we are to still have our health and each other. We lay in bed with nothing rushing us, nor requiring our attention and just talked. I am still getting used to understanding her without reading lips or asking her to repeat what was said, it is so pleasant.
I have probably said it before, but she is still the most beautiful woman in the world. I love the soft skin and curves. Legs? She has the prettiest. We do joke about that. When I first met her all I could see of her legs was her ankles and about three inches of legs that were in Bobby socks, but I knew they would be beautiful. It remained that way until we married. Yep, I was right, they were and still are.
(This is a HS picture, probably the year I dropped out and was dating Sherry. I once had hair!)
We worked around the house catching up and getting ready to go on vacation. Then she took me out for Chinese (one of my favorites). I had phone calls all day (Sherry still has to handle those). E-mails and messages and FB full. It was busy, but fun. THANKS to all of you for the BD wishes.
So tomorrow will just be a regular day. Wash the car and motor home, get ready to go on vacation. It will be the first time I have driven the coach and been 78 years old.

PS: We have both bathed in the new shower (at separate times). And yep, she changed the shower curtain, drats!

Good lookin kid. Sherry is a lucky gal. I can picture her in bobby socks. Tooo cute!
I still laugh about the shower curtain! I think its so funny to me too because I once had a clear shower liner (no curtain). We had some of the same laughs. I compromised and replaced it with a "peek-a-boo curtian that was half white and clear at the top. We now have a fabric curtain with a liner behind it. Ha. Couriosity is more fun.

Good to hear your birthday was so much fun! Love the high school pic, you may not have that piece of paper diploma, however what you've accomplished over seventy eight years has far more significance.

Your energy and love for others is what makes your world keep going round.......you do remind me of my parents, even tho Dad's gone now, Mom still never gives up on life...she'll be 88 in a few months but, like you, sure does not look her age. I think it's wonderful.

Well, it is tomorrow, that "regular" day, but you, once again, are sharing that day with the beautiful, stellar-legged girl who is the love of your life. Your regular days might just be what other people think of as great days. But separate showers, there was an opportunity that I wish you'd not missed. That photo of you and Shirl is adorable, Jack; and it's neat seeing how young people used to 'dress up' for their school photos. I was recently looking at an image of "Grody Day" in my h.s. yearbook, and realized some of those outfits aren't nearly as awful as what today's teenagers wear to school. SMDH!
