Little KNOWN FACTS:
…There are more living organisms on the skin of a
single human being than there are human beings on the surface of the earth.
…The longest bout of hiccups lasted nearly 69
years.
….Men can read smaller print than women. Women can hear better
Ready for this?
People that need it don’t read it!
And some people who need it will not heed it!
Philosophy, one of my dad’s best country
attitudes was concerning people who put every one down. He said to me once,
“Son, if you have to pull someone down to make you look tall, you don’t stand
too tall yourself.” And another was: “In
this life you can accomplish much, if you do not care who gets the credit.”
( I am right, says the goat)
Need it and heed it is something not everyone
can see. A couple years ago we noticed a
crack in the motorhome windshield. As
you know, the cracks grow. Windshield cracks are caused by two things in a
motor home. Like the automobile, we have
had cracks caused by flying gravel or debris from the roads. The other cause is
related to the coaches themselves, our
coach is 38.5 feet long. If I turn the coach and start up a steep incline the
unit can ‘twist’. The twisting stress will crack a windshield. That usually happens when parking a coach.
The last time a windshield was replaced, the installer said,
smugly, “The last installer didn’t know what he was doing.”
I hate to hear that. If I
was natured different (and many times I wish I were) I would have said, "Here is
$50 for a trouble call. I don’t think I need your service." Instead, I came
inside and told Sherry, “This ain’t gonna be good.”
I heard: ‘the coach is built wrong’, the cracked glass is from
China and ‘them Chinks can’t do anything right,’ ( my windshield was labeled ‘Made
in the USA’.) I did point that out, but the man said, “That is fake too!” This
guy was stuck on himself and could do nothing but run everyone and everything
down. “I HATE THAT”.
After the installation I avoided any stress on the coach and
windshield, but within a few months the windshield was cracked. It seems that
the person who is insecure in their occupation, must tear the other guy down.
(some folk know how to annoy you)
I like the theory put out by good folk. If you cannot say
something good. It is best to say nothing.

This guy probably never worried about windows not fitting!

I like your Dad's attitudes and I hate for people to put other people down all the time. Recently I told a lady about my blood pressure being 200 and was finally prescribed a fourth different kind of blood pressure pill. She told me that doesn't sound right. I wondered did she mean I was likely lying or did she mean my doctor didn't know what he was doing?
That is interesting about the motorhome windshield cracks and what can cause them. I agree, if you can't say something good, just don't say anything.

I agree, most who need it, do not heed it. Hope this new window shield lasts longer than the previous one.
Just checking in to see how you 2 are doing.
And Paula, I don't think she thought you were lying. I believe she was questioning the expertise of your doctor. The combination of medical issues you have to deal with currently are difficult to finesse Exactly. I am sure your doctor is doing his/her best. I hope the 4th one is the charm.
Just No. I cant stand to hear someone talk down on others especially without proof or explanation. I would have asked him to guarantee his work in writing and be sure to take it back to him when that windshield cracks again.

It's difficult to live by sometimes but I do believe what I read in our church bulletin once....There's a lot of bad in the best of us and a lot of good in the worst of us and it doesn't become any of us to talk about the rest of us...it meant something to me and it's helped me meld my kids into good people, I'd like to believe, Thanks to God at my shoulder.
As for that windshield and the repair man, I agree with Lisa, get his guarantee and take it back to him when it cracks. Takes all kinds, doesn't it.
love n' hugs from up north.....a cold front came sweeping in and caused me to put my bluejeans on over my shorts....What's with this weather.....I'm camping out on the deck after dark to watch the Northern Lights. Have a great weekend and watch those stress twists.
When I read your opening paragraph (on my cell this morning), I swear I began feeling itchy all over! :)
Ooooh, I could write an epistle about folks who get their kicks out of 'one-upping' others. Love those bits of advice from your dad. We've an individual at work ... pretty high on the food chain ... who's incredibly condescending and speaks harshly about her underlings. Just last week I had to dissuade an associate from reporting K. to the "Wyntegrity" line.
Some days, there's just not enough wine. LOL!
folks who get on their high horse at the expense of others aren't very nice.
