Ah, think about the FUTURE!

Little known facts:
…The grizzly bear is the official state animal of California.  But no grizzly bears have been seen there since 1922.  They are plentiful in Mississippi, Tennessee and other southern states, however.

One recent survey discovered that “a steady job” is the number one thing that American women are looking for in a husband, and discovered that 75 percent of women would have a serious problem dating an unemployed man.

According to a study conducted by economist Carl Benedict Frey and engineer Michael Osborne, up to 47 percent  of the jobs in the United States could soon be lost to computers, robots and other forms of technology
And for tonight:

#3 above caught my attention in reference to an article I recently read from one of the Auto industries future looking dudes. He mentioned how fast things are changing due to technology.  We all who buy computers and phones know that fact, for sure. You spend $200-500 for a phone or computer and in 6 months it is just hanging on before coming extinct!

Son Mark drives for UBER. So we have learned a little about this new technology. But this ‘thinker’ carried it a little further. UBER owns no cars nor ‘Taxi Lot’, but is presently the largest Taxi service in the nation. He further stated that individual cars will soon be ‘out of date’. You need to go somewhere?  You will tap an app on your smart phone and within minutes a ‘self-driving electric car’ will show up. You will get in and because you have already told it on the phone where you are going, there is no need for directions, it just drives off when you are comfortable. You may be working on your phone or tablet as you go.

Since this will be a ‘computer car’ you are directly on the ‘net’. You fare is deducted from your bank account and there is no need to look for a parking place when you arrive at your destination.  If it does malfunction, it will call its replacement.

Then he pushes this subject further: At that point you do not buy auto insurance nor make a car payment. Traffic accidents are nearly none and traffic deaths will be minimum.

I am not sure I like the ideas but, I have no control on the future of technology. Just not sure I want to fly in a 747 or ride in a car with no pilot or driver!  Just sayin’.

But I do appreciate the mind that can visualize that stuff!

I think there was an accident here in Arizona with a driver less car. I googled and this came up

https://www.cnbc.com/2017/03/26/uber-self-driving-car-arizona-crash-suspended.html

I'm living proof that technology has taken over my job to a great extent with electronic medical records, voice recognition software, etc. I saw someone had posted on Facebook about a robot drawing blood. Can you imagine??? I used to think those types of jobs were impossible to go to technology, but I guess I have to rethink my thinking.

Its a dry heat here in Phoenix, at least for the time being. I'll take that over humidity any old day :)

Wonder what happens if you don't like the driverless car's driving? John needs to backseat drive when I drive him around.

Technology will no doubt bring a lot of new things in the future but I cannot even fathom what it will cost. My computer has been extinct for a while now, but still works. Like my computer, a car may become extinct as we know it, but I'm one that will stay at home rather than go. After all we can order just about anything we need from the internet! Meanwhile I like the freedom to be able to drive where I want to go.

As much as I love some technology, I cannot fathom riding in a driverless car. That would scare the bejeebers outa me. I'm too old school. Never ever thought I'd be but here I am, chicken again. lol In the southern part of our state there are people working for some company that were standing in line to have a chip put in their hand that is used to access their company......now that's going too far. There is absolutely no privacy in our world anymore and it all started with PC's. Here I am, plunking away. oh well
Bless your day dear friends. loven'hugs from up north where our gardens are still being watered by the heavens. YEAH. We need a lot of garden rain. Have a good one!

The game changes daily. Technology is moving so fast it's hard for this old brain to keep up.
