GREAT TRUTHS THAT ADULTS HAVE LEARNED:

It's like jogging on the inside.

WE found another road side
veggie stand. The young man (54) was born here on the Eastern Shore but had
lived in Lakeland Florida for 18 years. He also had went 3 years at Eastern
Carolina U, years before our grandson did, but they were fraternity brothers. Of course they never met. He tried to give us
the veggies but we paid. His corn was
fresh and $.50 an ear. Actually the taste was better than the ‘buccaneer corn’.
(Pictures from our walk today)
I am not a fraternity
type guy, so I would not have been in a fraternity if I had attended. I probably would not have been invited. LOL
No matter at this point
in life, I won’t be looking to do college for a few more years. LOL
Oh, I did find a book I started two years ago. I forget who suggested
it, but it is temporarily entitled "The RV Life Style".
There are many books along that line out there already, but I am looking
at it again.
(This was the worst 1/2 mile for mosquitoes, sheltered from the wind)
The flies are plentiful here
along with the mosquitoes. As long as the wind blows the ‘skeeters’ aren’t a
problem. BUT we are trying to figure how the flies get in. It is sort of a game.
I think I would like to
have one of those ‘sticky tapes’ that mama used to hang in the house, do you
remember those? They were in a coil and you pulled them from the inside of the
coil to expose a 1” sticky tape. I hung from the ceiling, I believe it was
sticky both sides.
(My girl said these were begonias )
Sherry and I remember two
places where the flies were terrible. One place was a mile or two outside Dodge
City near a stock yard. The other was
farm country near Chino, California. WE
went out just after setting up to sight see and came back to our light grey coach.
The entire side was black with flies. A
side of the MH was in the sun and they were soaking up the heat. We didn’t stay
there long. LOL
(The ever present geese, gotta watch your step!)
I have wasted a lot of
paper here and said nothing, ha! Nothing
new about that. Life is good.

I'm posting a little early. We are planning to do our walk during the eclipse. We are a little cloudy here on the Eastern Shore!
Middle age is when you choose your cereal for the fiber, not the toy. I love that.
And I like fresh veggies.
Can't stand flies and I do remember those tape things - do they even have them anymore?
Stay unbitten.

Flies drive me crazy. And there is nothing worse than stepping in a pile of goose poop. Hope you had a pleasant walk. we saw the eclipse and it was wonderful.
Skeeters do not bite me. Im lucky.
Flies are worst when a rain is coming.
I laughed at the middle age cereal fact! Funny thing, I was just telling Nick how we used to fight over the cereal prize.
Then I read ypur post!

Always great pictures from your walks! Nothing beats the taste of freshly grown veggies! Glad you found that stand and a new friend in the process!

No matter what summer will have it's flies....and mosquitoes . We used to keep a box fan going on the deck of the camper to deter the bugs... seemed that kept them away . Glad you are getting to enjoy the fresh food that this time of year offers. It's good eating for sure. Sometimes I have a meal of nothing but vegetables. Got to enjoy it all while we can !
Good to hear of your pleasant experience at the second road-side stand. That fella sounds like GOOD folk.
We've been experiencing a rush of mosquitos in the last week. They don't bother with Tom or the dogs, but my flesh is a skeeter magnet. I've taken to rubbing Bounce dryer sheets on my arms and legs before I venture out - even to the mailbox.
