When you try something new

The Historical picture of the day:

To prove her innocnece an exotic dancer is proving to a judge that she is not showing more than the law allows.

Lots of folk are smart. Many can multi-task. I have said it many times since I have started doing more cooking, I do admire you cooks who can put a 4-5 course meal on the table without two of the items being cold. I am smart in many ways, but not a great cook nor a multi tasker. I can do many different things fairly well. I am fortunate to have learned a little about a lot of things.

I can tell a good story as long as perfect English is not required. As a story teller I use a lot of props and body English. I knew Kids loved the stories by their reactions. Once my hearing was gone I still wanted to tell stories so I decided to put my thoughts on paper. WHOA! I’m gonna be an author. (I knew absolutely nothing about WRITING AND PUBLICATION)

My first book, I thought this is good. There isn’t too many grammatical errors. OUCH, I was in for a rude awakening.  It was disappointing, but I was smart enough to know I needed to work harder. The book bled RED. Errors throughout. I thought I would NEVER get the corrections made.

There have been times in my life I have given up. But mostly I hang in there until I am satisfied. I believe in luck…… But I believe in hard work more.
Some tasks in life you can learn by watching. But in reality once you try something new, there is a lot of trial and error. Not being cute here, but I am smart enough to know I am not a Baldacci or Grisham. But as my friend H Jack Darnell says, “I would write if no one read it.”
I have a couple books started, but neither yanks my chain at present. I don’t think I am that much different than my fellowman/woman. We all have challenges and must face them the best we know how. As I grew up no one handed me a ‘Book of Directions for LIFE!’.  I am positive you didn’t either.
I am on the down side of life now. Long range plans (20-30 years) are out of the question.
BUT THERE IS STILL TOMORROW, and I will be ready for it.

No one handed me a book on the directions of life specifically but I found a lot of good advice in the Bible on how to live one's life :)

It is always a balancing act to get a meal together on time. I find here my hubby underestimates how long it will take to barbecue and I'm ready with my sides only to have to find a way to keep them warm while the meat is still cooking on the BBQ. It all works out though.

So surprised to see another entry from you in the same morning. Must be a matter of timing on when I last opened blogger to this one, Not sure how that happened. Anyway it is always good to read what you write about. Writing seems to be a habit for you and a good one for sure. None of us knows how many days we have left and I agree while we are here, it's up to us to make it a good one!

The way you speak of your 'red ' errors reminds me of my Daddy's first book. It too was full of ' red error ' but that's the way he Intended it to be. It was the way he spoke, wrote and expressed himself and I never saw anything wrong with it. It was exactly why he never published anything except to us kids. We each have copies of his writings as HE wanted it, not some proof-readers opinion. We all knew of his wishes for his writings. As for the Book of Directions for LIFE, we got ours from Mom's direction toward an honorable way of life through our love for God. It's still working. Hang on tight to each day.
love n' hugs from up north where we woke to -1, yes, MINUS one degree. Very much like winter around here as the birds pack full of sunflower seeds and suet for warmth.

Multitask? Heck I just admire how you can do so many things in a day! You could easily still have a 20 year plan!
You will have recipes posted on your blog before long. haha.

Keep on keeping on

We never know how long we will be on this earth, maybe you will still be here twenty more, me I hope not when I get to where I can't take care of myself I think that would be long enough. I’m glad the good lord has kept me going this long and still taking care of the husband as he hasn't been doing too well these past few weeks. Age doesn't seem to matter a sweet young lady that I hired to clean my house while I was laid up after breaking my hip five years ago she will be laid to rest this morning after only finding out she had brain cancer a few months ago. She was only fifty five. RIP Lisa.

Interesting historical photo. And you know you have done a lot with you life and now of us know how long we will be here. And we all make mistakes and learn from them - hopefully!

when it comes to living ones life age doesn't matter as long as you're in good health.
