Today's secret entry................
SHHHHHHHHHHHH, it’s moving day today. We are headed down close to Tampa to Hillsbourgh River State Park. The Motor home is getting thirsty so we will stop and take on some diesel at Flying J. I will also get a Cappuccino, if the machine isn’t broken. The machines must get a real workout at the truck stops, because about half of the time they are out of order. Probably because there are a lot of folks like me, treat themselves while on the road.
Sherry started cleaning house today, so I tried to help. She fixed beans and cornbread, one of my favorites for supper. She has also been washing clothes most of the day. Our machine is great. I have told before, but it is one machine that washes and dries. However the size of the load is limited so it takes more loads. It is still much more convenient than a Laundromat. We seldom visit one of those anymore. One reason she likes to catch up the laundry is that at the state park we do not have full hook-up. We must use our storage tanks for grey and black water during that week. It is no big deal, but it is nice to be caught up when you go in.
Shirl keeps us up to date on our friend Louise at home. The news is not good and of course that is a downer. Cancer is a very mean disease. I did not know the meanings of the different colors of ribbons to remember ones affected by cancer. Jim Page sent me the colors today. I did not know there was that many. I knew breast cancer is a pink ribbon. Louise is affected by pancreatic cancer, the color is purple.
I hear there is a cure for cancer, but the medical community is making so much money off the disease, they do not want to release it. Now if you believe that, you have the right. But to me, if it was true, some person anxious for fame and fortune alone would release it. You have got to know that there are scientist’s working day and night for a cure. What medical scientist does not want to be as famous as Jonas Salk? Knowing his name would be revered for as long as the world lasts. I for one do not buy it. Maybe on a lower level who is cruel and greedy, someone is hoping it stays as is, but I don’t believe on the scientific end that is true. What a horrific thing should it be true.

The value of Walking:
Walking can add minutes to your life. This enables you at 85 years old to spend an additional 5 months in a nursing home at $7000 per month.

My grandpa started walking five miles a day when he was 60. Now he's 97 years old and we don't know where he is.

I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me.

I wish there was a cure for cancer. It would be cruel if there were and they were keeping quite about it. So much suffering in the world. I pray that you friend will get better soon.I hope that ya'll enjoy the next campground. Helen
I hope you are moving close to coming back home.
I can't believe with as much money that has been
spent on cancer they cannot find a cure for one
of them. Paula will tell you are moving. Didn't
get by Louise today. I went to Holy Angels and
played for l and 1/2 hours. They were having
their nails done while I was playing. Very
relaxing morning. Fun time.

Now I'm worried that check I sent for "Rags" will never reach you. I know you need it for gasoline. Like the walking jokes.
I hope you find the diesel is free and the cappuccino machine working...ha. Fat chance on free diesel, huh... :)
I am just glad that you are back to the happy Jack and everything seems to be ok at least much better. Aren't you proud of your sister. No one knows how much it means to have soomeone come in and break up their long days, My sister that did not have alszhiemers lived for the entertainment plus I never missed a day of seeing them. Even when my sister with alzhiemers did not know me . Lucy
I can't imagine clearing out all of my stuff to the point of living out of a motor home! It sounds wonderful though... Loved your post about your dedication to your wife.. your sense of humor with the Oprah post.. Looks like I'm going to have to read one of your books!!! So sorry to hear about your friend's illness. I have a good friend who is a research scientist and making major progress towards a cancer cure. Her lab is funded privately by a wealthy family that lost several family members to the same disease. Some researchers are funded only for a few years, when the grant runs out, they need to find a new job!
Glad your back to somewhat normal, we have Sher on the prayer chain, and you!!!
RAGS finally arrived in this mornings mail, *(18th), THANKS! I am enjoying it if I can keep it away from Anna Mae, LoL!!!!!
Weather cold, snowing, blowing, White outs and strong winds today, fresh snow and the good news is their starting to work in the Sugar Bush's tapping the Maple trees for the Maple Syrup season!!!
take care;
Woody & Anna Mae
I have a pot of beans waiting for Gary when he gets home tonight. No cornbread though because I'm out of the stuff to make it with so he'll just put crackers in them probably. When we were without power on the 13th day I loaded up all our dirty clothes and went to Dad's to wash them. I didn't leave a note on the table for Gary to tell him where I was because I thought I'd be home before he got home. He called Terri and asked her if I was at her house and Terri told him I was at Dad's. He called there and I told him I was drying my last load. He said ok I'm gonna go watch tv. While I was gone our power came back on, lol. I had a nice visit with Dad anyway but I sure do hate to have to load all that laundry and take it somewhere else.
I actually don't know what to think when it comes to a cure for cancer. I do think that some, not all medical professionals will use it to their personal advantage. It's sad but I've seen it happen more than once. I'm really sorry to hear about your friend Louise. I've heard but don't know how true it is that pancreatic cancer is one of the most painful cancers to endure. She and her family are in my thoughts and prayers.
Hugs
Debbie
