The Top of the Hill Prayer
Author Unknown
Lord thou knowest I am growing older. Keep me from becoming talkative and possessed with the idea that I must express myself on every subject.
Release me from the craving to straighten out everyone's affairs.
Keep me from the recital of endless detail. Give me wings to get to the point.
Seal my lips when I am inclined to tell of my aches and pains. They are increasing with the years, and my love to speak of them grows sweeter as time goes by.
Teach me the glorious lesson that occasionally I may be wrong.
Make me thoughtful, but not nosy; helpful, but not bossy.
With my vast store of wisdom and experience it does seem a pity not to use it all. But thou knowest, Lord, that I want a few friends at the end.
Amen
Thanks for coming by the log!

Jack... you were a hippie!!! LOL ! Love the do.
Also, love the Top of The Hill Prayer ~ how true...how true!
I hope your shoulder is doing better and you can put your arm over your head without whining and groaning and moaning and all those other noises that you no doubt were emitting. Poor Sherry... I hope she got through your ordeal okay???
...once I had long hair as well, thank you for the memories. Please have you all a nice Friday.
Love the prayer I need to keep a copy close
by and read it often.
Love the picture we were all slim and trim but
something like age crept in and no control. I will seal my lips. HA HA

I thought it was Spot and Sally and Dick and Jane, books must be dif'rent in NC...ha. Take care, enjoy the mountains, Sheila
love that prayer; I'll have to remember it for whenever (not any time soon, LOL) I get old

Helpful, but not nosy...What a novel idea!
Hey! That "Top of the Hill Prayer" is just getting too personal! ROFL!!!
I can hardly remember of ever being "trim". Old age certainly is a cruel one. Sherry still looks the same.
Did ya know Jack, that the wide legged pants are back in style...hope you hung onto them...and look at you all looking so 70's Something...that Sherry is sure a cutie.
Now, about that prayer...it fits me too well...does that mean I'm getting up there in yrs.?
