I know worry is a waste of time. I know some of the catch phrases that describe or cover worry, i.e. “Think back, has worrying ever solved a problem for you?” Hey, the answer is obvious, NO!
But my question is, how do you keep that sucker ‘Worry’ from popping up in your head, in the middle of the night or too early in the morning?
I once took Betty’s advice about worry and it worked for a long time. She said at times she had written down the ‘problem’ that needed ‘fixing’, then wrote across the note in red. ‘It is in His hands’. As a matter of fact I just now picked it up and read it again. The note stays right here within a few inches from my fingertips.
Of course I say it is not worry. Not worry, just trying to figure a way “I” can do something to fix it. One day it will sink into my head I might can fix a car, an engine, a jack, an outlet, a light fixture, a tire BUT no one can ‘fix’ another human unless they are ready to be ‘FIXED’ or are ready to change on their own.
How many dads and moms would have ‘fixed’ (straightened out) their son or daughter who is in jail for murder or bank robbery, if they could have? Most parents want their children to find the right paths, but when they ignore the ‘detour’ signs they get stuck, and then all the ‘worry’ in the world won’t fix it.
So, right now, thanks to my friend Betty (A Bench With a View) out in Arizona I feel much better than I did when I started this entry. THANKS LADY! I might backslide, but hopefully I was even worrying for nothing anyway!
It is human nature to worry I guess. It seems when everything is going well, if we are not careful, we will find something to worry about. One of Sister Shirl’s sayings is, “I will worry about that for five minutes for you.”
So since for right now, I am worry free, if you need me to worry about something for you for five minutes, I have the time.

Good advice to let your worries go.
Thanks for the shout out, Jack. I still worry more than I know I should, but it does help to write it down and to surrender it to God. I also say when dealing with a particular thing "Lord, this didn't catch you by surprise, so help us through it." Another thing that helps is remembering how God has come through with other things in your past. Our pastor preached a sermon a few weeks ago about God being faithful. It stuck a cord with me in that God is faithful. He can't be anything but faithful and there's a Bible verse (too lazy to look it up right now) that says even if we aren't faithful, he still is faithful. So putting everything into perspective, worrying does no good but only adds stress, sleepless nights, etc. So why worry? (though I do struggle with this from time).

I've become a real worry wart (heard that expression?),but after reading this advice from you and Betty I'm going to try to do better.
It lost my comments. Will try again. We had fun yesterday trying to decide what to do with the money. The girls that helped up also had fun. That was good coffee sitting on main street looking at the park. We will have to do it again.
Good advice from Betty for sure and also from your lovely Sherry. It is truly all in His hands! Better to pray than to waste time worrying. I know when my children left home I had the worst time of it and finally just decided the good Lord could take better care of them than me anyway. Me too - worry free today!
Most things we worry about have either already happened or will Never happen.
"worry about nothing. Pray about everything".
Don't worry be happy.

PS: Im loving the tiny vintage camper photos. I'm dreaming big for small things.
Like Betty's advise, it's also been my mom's and sisters advise.....it means the same thing, but we say, Turn it over to the Lord. EVERYTHING is in HIS hands. He will see us through and HE always does. I wish I'd listened to that same advise years ago raising our families....sometimes we just forget.
Loved this entry. Prayer works.
love n' hugs your way from our way where I've been bringing bird feeders inside each night. One of our local bears have returned, tearing things up and leaving a mighty large footprint.
By nature, I'm a pathological worrier ... so this post certainly struck a chord! Yes, I love Betty's advice.
Long ago someone said they believed "Worry is a prayer to the devil." Pretty upsetting, no? Prayer trumps all else!
