POLITICS/DO NOT READ IF POLITICS UPSETS YOU!

Funny isn’t it? We just cannot recognize politics for what it is, when MY party is in I get so mad when folks call my president names, and call for his ouster. Shoot, we can do no wrong. Whatever tactics we use to get our way is fine. And NO, it wasn’t the same when your guy was in He was just a crook a Crap head. I called him names because they were true. How can you call my guy names, he is a saint! Your party is just jealous.

If it wasn’t so serious, it would be funny. Folks it is politics pure and simple. Parties bribe and cajole to get votes for whatever they feel is the agenda at the time. The Republicans do it, the Democrats do it. We just get mad when folks don’t see things the right way! LOL.

I have said it in public; I have said it to my Sherry. Referring to the present Bill that just passed congress and is headed to the president’s desk, MR./MS. JOHN DOE PUBLIC (you and me) have no idea what is in that bill. You got no straight talk from the political parties because a Bill that large (in all fairness) was probably not read by most that voted on it.

We got only HALF-TRUTHS and some misrepresenting from Both sides, one to get it passed the other to kill it. Now that it will become law I honestly hope it is a good thing.

It was meant to be complicated, lawyers wrote it. If they wanted it to be simple they could have just amended the present Medicaid system to cover all people under $50K a year (Or something similar, George McGovern suggested this a long time ago, but that is too simple).

So now we will find out what it really means. Of course if it is a WRONG step the folks that passed it will be long gone before it is realized. If it was the RIGHT step, some other national emergency will come up to overshadow it. I was against the Bill because I thought it was too complicated. It seems like Health Care INS. repair, instead of Heath care reform.

And contrary to many feelings, Americans have the right to protest. I didn’t always agree with President Bush (I did vote for him), but I did get hurt when you (who did) called him VERY NASTY names (i.e. painting a mustache on him and calling him Hitler) and still do. Many will Blame Bush for everything from a stumped toe to Global warming. So don’t get so upset when folks call the present president and his party names, when they blame them for some misdeed (Not deserved in your opinion)

ITS POLITICS FOR HEAVEN’S SAKE. They love to get our blood boiling.
I am Libertarian/Republican in my politics. I voted for Goldwater, Wallace, Nixon, Ross, Carter, Reagan, Bush and McCain (Who I felt the lesser or two bad choices).

I buried a great dear friend a few weeks back, a died-in-the-wool Democrat. We differed on politics and unions. WE joked together. I loved him like a brother and NEVER did we have a major argument. WE accepted politics as what it was, the BIG GUYS GAME and we were the pawns.

Remember Mr. Johnson’s Great Society. Johnson's success depended on his skills of persuasion, coupled with the
Democratic landslide in the 1964 election that brought in many new liberals to Congress. Anti-war Democrats complained that spending on The Vietnam War choked off the Great Society. While some of the programs have been eliminated or had their funding reduced, many of them, including Medicare, Medicaid and federal education funding, continue to the present. The Great Society's programs expanded under the administrations of Nixon and Ford.

So we will all watch and learn later how smart or ignorant this Presidency is. I said when he was elected that I hoped he was the best we ever had. So far I don’t see it, but that is my opinion. I am an American and have that right, so do you.

Thanks for coming by the log (No matter what your politics).

TO SHERRY AND JACK, TIME WILL TELL.

AS BEING A 'COUNTRY BOY' OF THE GREAT DEPRESSION AND WORKING FOR A DOLLAR A DAY AND HAPPY TO HAVE THE JOB, IT IS OVERWHELMING FOR ME WHEN SEEING THESE FINANCIAL FIGURES OF 'TRILLIONS', UP UNTIL RECENTLY HEARD 'MILLIONS' AND OCCASIONALLY 'BILLIONS'.

HOPEFULLY WE WILL HAVE LAWMAKERS IN THE NEAR FUTURE (NOVEMBER 2010) THAT BELIEVE THAT GOD CAN AND WILL HELP IF WE SINCERELY ASK HIM.
WE WILL BE WISE TO DO MORE RESEARCH ON CANDIDATES REGARDING PAST HISTORY OF ACTION IN CONGRESS AND URGE SENSIBLE WORKING PEOPLE TO RUN FOR SENATE AND REPRESENTATIVES.

PEOPLE SEEM TO BE WAKING UP TO WHAT SEEMS TO BE HAPPENING IN RECENT YEARS AND MONTHS. sam

I hope you don't get yourself in trouble. I
think this is a good article. I do understand
that the IRS will be in charge of the program.
That is not a joke, One of the Senators quoted
it from the bill. That's scary.

O.K. Jack, I read your warning ... TWICE ... then went for my antacid pills! My favoring this nation with fervor sometimes gets negative feedback. IT IS NOT MY INTENT TO OFFEND but I do want to weigh in on this important subject. I am still convinced we have the greatest nation on the planet. I want and expect citizens of other countries to believe in their own country and be proud of it. We are a great nation. However, there is an element in the political realm who are trying their best to hi-jack us and turn us into a socialist state. In my view the mis-understanding of equality is at the root of our trouble. Their is no equality in this nation. Never has been. Never will be...except at the door of salvation. (Again, My view!) There is no equality at birth. There is no equality in finances. There is no equality in opportunity. Don't shoot me yet. Think about it. Some are born crippled. Some are born whole. Some are born intelligent. Some are born with MS or other diseases. --- Some are born into rich families. Some are born in poverty. Opportunity? It doesn't take long to figure that one out. The only area of equality I know of is at the foot of the cross of Christ. Rich or poor, high I.Q. or low, Social elite, or social out-cast, received the sin nature of Adam - and may now receive the gift of God's grace through the work that Jesus did. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." Let me go further. I am not equal to you. I am not equal to the police officer. I am not equal to the ship's captain. Neither am I equal to the lowest seaman on board the ship. WE ARE DIFFERENT. We all have different abilities. I would not want a life where everyone is a clone of me - nor even where everyone bows to my every wish. I do not expect everyone to agree with me. But I still believe this is the best nation in the world.

I'm smiling. Hope you are too.

love reading your views on politics, Jack and I usually agree with them. I do believe this present bill is not the answer since people haven't read it. I think that is a shame. I do believe we need healthcare reform but is this the answer? Time will tell. I have to remind myself that all our leaders were put into place by God, because you have to believe he is in control and he knows what he is doing. So I'll just continue to trust he knows what he is doing (because those in charge don't seem to know what they are doing).

However, I love the sign I saw the other day at a protest against Obama-care. "You can't fix stupid but you can vote it out." Maybe people will be wiser the next time around, both those running for office and those voting.

I forgot to say one thing Kids are going to be
insured on Parents plan until 26, when do they
grow up get a job or go to college. I cannot
believe that would be in the health plan.

They need to grow up. We did and proud of it.

Politics upset me when I watch the nastiness on TV. I deleted my comments on medicare because I did not realize how much of your commenting space I was taking up. Then I just did nothing the rest of the day. I do not vote and that is the truth. If I did I would vote for the person, not the party. We have a fellow blogger that has a chronic disease that may never go away and she needs health insurance but one party wants to scrap everything and start over. Is she just supposed to suffer while the 2 parties fight. She is like me, she has very little money when it comes to the cost of going to the doctor. She is caught in the middle of politics. I am smiling and not upset and I am going to go back to my air mattress and see if I can go back to sleep. Have a nice day.

hi jack, politics is always on my blood as my father rooted it to us he served for almost all of his life in politics but i never ever love politics eeven when he asked me run on our community election,he was so dissapointed in me when i run out of that election they did everything for me to run but at the end i just said no,i want a very simple life unlike some of my family members,as you can read on my blogs im just a simple girl wanting not more than a happy and simple life even without the power to rule because i believe i can help people even without entering the politics and for sure we did that already my friends and i build one foundation to help some distress OFW who need some help....
and one thing more i hated politics more when some people killed my brother and my nephew who run as a mayor in our city, that explains more why i really really hated politics now adays....

let me wish you and sherry a wonderful wednesday!
