The subject came up between me and myself. I also asked my wonderful side kick, Sherry.
What is the percentage of Americans who have visited all fifty states? I also consulted the internet. Evidently there is not a well know statistic on the subject. I learned that Richard Nixon was the first president to visit all fifty states. But that did not answer my question.
The only thing I found on the internet was,’ the chances are slim’.
Anyway I am looking into the future, maybe next fall. We could plan on spending the winter in Arizona and New Mexico. In dong so we could take the Northern route and go to Idaho. That is the only state that we only gave lip service to.
On one of our day trips out of Yellowstone Sherry found a two rut road (I am not kidding), a two rut road branching off from a road between the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone that went into Idaho. So we took it. We ended up spending a few hours in Idaho just to say we had been there. Now we want to go back and ‘visit’ Idaho. So we could do that and of course dropping down to Arizona we would have to go through UTAH and stop to see Elsie Mae and Ben along with the rest of the extended family there. (After having a great visit) We would travel on through ‘Lost’ Vegas. We would stop and see Cousin Dewey and Aunt Aggie.
(If you are a traveler at heart you do this kind of dreaming)
We could winter in AZ and NM, and go to see Buddy and Dianne whom we haven’t seen since 1956.
Of course since I am getting OLD, we should circle back up through UTAH to see the family again in the Spring, maybe fly Jack and the boys out to Utah to get with us.
It is easy to want to travel when you are stationary.
Thanks for coming by the log.

PS: A little Southern Humor:
Alabama
A group of Alabama friends went deer hunting and paired off in twos for the day. That night, one of the hunters returned alone, staggering under the weight of an eight-point buck. "Where's Henry?" the others asked.
"Henry had a stroke of some kind. He's a couple of miles back up the trail," the successful hunter replied.
"You left Henry laying out there and carried the deer back?" they inquired.
"A tough call," nodded the hunter. "But I figured no one is going to steal Henry!"

Yeah you two are just looking for an excuse to see Elsie Mae. Oh I don't blame you at all. Like the deer joke but I would hate to be hunting with that guy and have him leave me there.
I think I was on that road Sherry put you guys on; but that is beautiful country up there for sure!
if you guys vacation in Arizona, we must get together; that is almost a hop and a skip from So. California
I am amazed too at how many states you have visited! that is quite an accomplishment

I think the wanderer is getting itchy feet, ready to travel. That is good if you like the wanderers way of life. Me, I am to much of a home body and have always been. One good thing is that you BOTH enjoy the traveling. It seems Joe is like me, we loved to go on vacation but we were always ready when it came time to go home. When did you decide you were OLD, Jack?? OLD is when you can no longer see to drive. I think Joe is experiencing some of the things that go with heart surgery, and I think the pain on his back is somehow connected to the device and surgery. Also , he feels like his stomach is bloated and it is not but that is where fluid goes if there is any excess. He looks skinny to me. Maybe he is taller than you or maybe it is because I am fat. Yep I am fat.
Happy traveling where it be in mind or person. Loved the AL joke. Us Alabamians are rednecks for sure. Helen
I travel in my mind and that satifies me for
traveling. Had to travel in the past now I am glad to stay around the homestead. I figure I
will say bye after Thanksgiving. Glad to have
you around Town.

Nothing wrong with dreaming and I'm sure you & Sherry would love to see little Elsie Mae & Ben. I hope you & Sherry get to travel for several more years and get to enjoy something that gives you both pleasure.
Love & Hugs
Debbie
