Confusion and 911 response cost.

So you ever wonder just why am I here to start with? I think we all have. Did your child ever say ‘I wish I had never been born!’ Funny We don’t have much of a choice in parents or being born. We do have a choice of friends and companions.

We in the USA, or our governments (local, county, state & federal) are trying to figure a way to keep the same amount of money in the treasury. There are more speeding tickets issued and more fines imposed. Instead of realizing they expect Joe & Mary citizen to down size and cut back, Government must too (in my opinion).
I just read about an unfortunate guy who was hit in the rear while driving his scooter. Some good Samaritan called 911. It was no problem just a bump up and no damage. The first responders came and left seeing there was no real problem. HOWEVER the guy who got bumped was charged $200 and the guy who hit him was charged $100. Now for some reason, this does not make sense to me.

I was under the impression that is why we pay taxes for Police, firemen and trash pickup. Maybe I am wrong.
Anyway somehow I just do not like it. Can you refuse 911 help if you did not call it? That is too confusing.
If they are not needed, the incident could be charged to training. Oh well no one asked us, did they?
Thanks for listening to my griping.

PS:
To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.

Agree, agree! Once an ambulance came when I was involved in a minor accident and they tried to send me a bill. I refused to pay and it went away.

I agree on everything. When it comes to money all of a sudden I get scared just thinking of the bills that are going to come in. Would you believe the ambulance I called for Marty's dad in 1973 cost me 20.00. That is unheard of now.

my hubby was reading this morning something about an accident tax where police/fire departments/etc could assess a tax on you when they come to your aid. Hmmmmmmmm

but I think a good way to make money for state governments is make people renew their driver's license every year; here in California your driver's license is good for four years and when we moved back and got ours, it was $31.00 (I know that's gone up because all DMV fees have gone up). But imagine, $31 for 4 years of driving. If they charged that yearly, people would have to pay since the majority of us want to do the right thing and not drive on an expired license. And if they did it by processing through the mail, I don't think they would have to hire that many more people in the DMV for processing fees (or if they did it electronically, definitely wouldn't have to hire too many people). just my thoughts this Sunday afternoon

This world is changing rapidly. It is hard to believe the audacity of some who are supposed to be "public servants", like the police and fire and paramedics. However - I have to say that the actions of the public "in general" who are so quick to sue these "servants" of ours (including doctors and nurses) has contributed to a higher rate which they have to pay for insurance for fear that they will "lose their pants" so to speak.

And I certainly agree with Jefferson's statement! To me it somehow seems immoral.

Agree, agree, agree.....when Bill had his 30 hr. heart attack, it cost $21,000 to airlift him by helicopter, to a major hospital...Thank God for insurance. I think they would have let him die if he had not had it. But most of all, I thank GOD that he is still my man. It's all in His Hands.

Absolutely, the government needs to be just as accountable as the rest of us.

BlessYa and Stay HEALTHY

I think its terrible the way everyone wants to sue at the drop of a hat so to speak. That makes everything cost so much more for everyone. As for refusing 911 help John tired to when he had a wreck near the house and not far from the hospital. They put him in that ambulance anyway but he was hurt and then some would have wanted to sue so I guess they did the right thing.

A BUS DRIVER FRIEND HAD AN EXPRESSION THAT FITTED IN WITH MOST PROBLEMS OF DISCUSSION.

THE FRIEND WAS TALL AND SLIM AND HAD A SLOW SOUTHERN DRAWL. WE SAT AROUND WAITING FOR ASSIGNMENTS FROM THE DISPATCHER AT THE OTHER END OF THE DRIVER'S ROOM.
THE FRIEND WITH THE DRAWL WAS A GOOD LISTENER. JUST SAT THERE AND SOAKED IT ALL IN. I WAS ALWAYS EXPECTANT FOR ANY COMMENT THE DRIVER FRIEND WOULD HAVE.
I WAS INCLINED TO BE SORT OF RADICAL, KNOWING THE MISTAKES AND FAULTS OF POLITICIANS IN POWER. OTHER DRIVERS MIGHT EXPLODE WITH SHARP CRITICISM OR PREDICTIONS.
THE ONE WITH A SOUTHERN DRAWL SELDOM AS MUCH AS BATTED AN EYE WHILE TAKING IT ALL IN.

AS THINGS QUIETED DOWN, HERE CAME THAT SOUTHERN DRAWL, - - - SUCH IS LIFE, SUCH IS LIFE. SAME EXPRESSION EVERY TIME. sam

It doesn't make sense to me either! If a person denies medical assistance and did not call the ambulance........they should not have to be charged a fee.........

I can't seem to figure out half the increases in all my bills lately........I try real hard to be frugal.

Where are you guys now?

Hugs,Rose
