DR. JACK'S OFFICE AT WALMART

WElcome to my office!!! IN MY OFFICE there is room for ONE patient, ME! I give no medical advice to anyone, except ME!
I just received an E-mail listing the medications I need. Now that thinking just makes me sick. I am old fashioned enough to think I will know when I need medication. My medical advisor is at Walmart. While Sherry is picking up our Vitamins and baby aspirins I sometimes sit and talk with my Medical assistant. You know the one! You sit down and slip your arm into the ring and press the button to get your blood pressure, pulse rate, sexual preferences, etc.

Mine is always good. Have you ever tried to manipulate it? I can slow down my heart rate and speed it up, according to what I am thinking. Now I can honestly think of my Sherry in certain ways and actually speed up the count. I can think of the water falls, and fields we have seen and relaxed in and I can slow the rate down as much as ten. Oh, when I think of Sherry I can raise it 20! That is true. Try it sometime when like me you have nothing else to do. (don’t use Sherry you probably don’t know her well enough!)
Now, I stay concerned about my Cholesterol (and I can never spell that word ). I eat garlic, chicken, oats, asparagus and beans. We eat very little red meat. I take the multi-vitamin (Cardio) that is supposed to assist in lowering the overall levels. I drink only one alcoholic beverage and that is red wine. You should know that is why Jesus turned the water into wine so it would lower my cholesterol, LOL. Now if I die soon, you can maybe re-evaluate my diagnosis.
As a rule I have always done what the doctor says. So I intentionally do not go to see a doctor unless I am SICK, I would be reluctant to go against what he suggests or prescribe, i.e. While walking the trail I got a fever and was sweating a lot, head was hurting and I did find a tick that had attached to me. WE thought it would be good to be tested for Lyme. So I went in and took what the Doctor prescribed. I did not have Lyme, but it would have been irresponsible not to check after finding the tick. So I am not completely against medical help.

I have to be concerned about my heart because that is what has taken most of my family. At present I eat and take care of myself, better than any of my family ever did, after all I do not have a spare.
Thanks for coming by the log,
Nite Shipslog

Now I spend a lot of time waiting for medicine at Wal*Mart too so I'm going to try that sometime. Funny entry. I didn't make my bed this morning because John said if you want breakfast at McDonald's you better hurry.

Hi Jack and Sherry...well I get my prescriptions at Walmart too...doesn't usually take long...I have visited your "office" from time to time...it keeps telling me the same thing...just up or down sometimes...so I keep taking the meds..I don't like them...sometimes they make me funkier than usual...and that ain't good!!! and I don't go to the doctor any more than necessary...and I don't stay long...but I always take a book cause there is always a waiting period...in the waiting room and in that little cell that is colder than sin..doc comes in...five minutes I go out with what I need or don't need...all is well...and I also thank the good Lord every night for my health insurance...they have been good to me..I have no complaints...and Medicare is doing good too...just hope I outlive it all...and I think I will LOLOL...interesting entry Jack...verry interesting!!!! LOLOL...God Bless....Ora and him usually at the racetrack guy!!!!!

Good entry. Wal Mart is my shopping place.
I do stop by Dr. Jack's and take blood pressure.
I walk, eat right and try to take care of myself.

we visit our "doctor" at Albertson's and it was telling hubby on more than one occasion that his blood pressure was not in the good range so we tightened up the diet and increased the exercise, he dropped about 20 pounds and the blood pressure came down into a nice range :)

my blood pressure usually is always in the "wow, are you living range?" Its low but my mom had high blood pressure and my sister is on meds for it, so I do have to watch what I eat, my weight, and get that exercise in.

I think we need to listen to our bodies, we know them better than any doctor. I think they tell us when they need to be seen by a doctor and get some TLC

JACK, ADVICE IS SO PLENTIFUL.

BEFORE HAVING A STROKE IN OCTOBER 2008, I HAD WENT TO THREE DOCTORS, TWICE BECAUSE OF UN-NATURAL WEAKNESS AND ANOTHER TIME FOR SINUS PROBLEMS. DIFFERENT DOCTORS. NONE SENSED THAT A STROKE MIGHT BE IN THE OFFING.

A SENATOR OR HIGH GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL MIGHT HAVE RECEIVED CLOSER ATTENTION, THOUGH NOW THAT I AM RECEIVING MEDICINE REALIZE THAT THIS MEDICINE PROBABLY WOULD HAVE PREVENTED THE 'STROKE'.
SO MUCH STRONGER NOW THAN JUST BEFORE HAVING THE STROKE. USING A 'WALKER' TO WALK.

SO WHAT IS THE ANSWER FOR PEOPLE THAT ARE IN A 'PRE-STROKE' CONDITION, KNOWING THINGS ARE NOT RIGHT AND ONE DAY FIND THEIRSELVES ON THE FLOOR AND CANNOT GET UP WITHOUT HELP ?
JACK, KEEP CLOSE WATCH ON YOURSELF. sam

You're living right Jack...we can only do our best to keep the ticker happy. Bill always says, after loosing 2 brothers under 45, "The good Lord is going to take me when He wants me, so I'm doing my best til then." We slip sometimes and eat wrong just cause we get hungry for a good steak on the grill on occasion. At least twice a week we have chicken and fish of some sort, hardly any red meat, lots and lots of fresh veggies and fruit and Water. Like I said, we do what we can. We do need to walk more.
BlessYourHeart Dr.Jack...You sound like you're taking good care. Keep it up.
Blessings from Up North

I like your Dr's office! I've been unusually blessed with good health and give thanks to God every day for it. I do have an annual physical and have had to have a shot or two (with additional RX for cold and flu viruses) but quickly got better each time. Had malaria in 1985 and I promise you I don't ever want that again. I've lived in Africa for ten years and traveled in and out of there for ten more without any more troubles. I know "the Great Physician" has kept me safe - because I've had thousands of mosquito bites since then and no malaria. I like your positive attitude and hope you always continue to enjoy great health! You're a great friend.
