Getting the temperature right

We had a short summer. It is cool already here.
Weather and temperatures are always a subject to be discussed. Since we are not all alike some of us freeze when others are sweating. My Sherry will not go into a place of business or a restaurant without her trusty sweater, even if it is very warm outside.

I have been told I have the body of a lizard; I don’t get too put out over real cold or real hot temperatures. There are places where I do not understand the thinking of temps. Many fast food places keep the air so cold you could hang meat. When you see many customers bundled up you would think someone would get the hint and raise the thermostat.
I do remember once being in Wendy’s and my bro in law Elmer, asked them to warm it up a little and the manager said he had no control of it , the thermostat was set from ten miles away in Charlotte. Now I know we have the technology, but I just don’t believe that story.

Church is another place where you cannot satisfy us church members. Now they have gone to putting the thermostats in a little plastic locked container. Just anyone cannot change it.
. I think some churches have the hottest blooded person setting the thermostat. It seems with today’s technology we could have two temps; on the Right, a little warm. Then on the left a little cool.
Of course some of us just like to complain. LOL
Thanks for coming by the log.

JACK, IT IS GOOD TO HAVE A BODY THAT CAN TOLERATE TEMPERATURES.
I CAN STILL REMEMBER A VOICE OF A DEAR GRANDMOTHER CALLING FOR ME TO GET IN HERE AND GET A COAT.
I LIKED TO JUST ADD ANOTHER SHIRT. NEVER LIKED COLD WEATHER THOUGH.
COULD TOLERATE HEAT VERY WELL.
SIMPLE NOW, JUST SIT HERE AND FIX THE THERMOSTAT TO SUIT MYSELF. sam

I'm laughing because this is a most frustrating subject - especially at Church! I remember the "suffering" I've endured while living in Nairobi, Kenya because of the tropical weather. It averaged 72 degrees year-round. To be honest, it was as near perfect a climate as I've ever lived in.

There have been times where I have left my jacket on in a restaurant and times I wish I had a jacket to put on. If we go to the movies, I usually take something because I get chilly. I have throws in the family room for when they are needed. Enjoy the rest of the weekend, Sheila

I know in talking with people at the various churches we have gone to that it is something they have to figure out and gauge with the outside temperature and how many people might be at a particular service. With the big churches, sometimes it takes a bit to heat up the room or cool down the room depending what they need to do so they might turn the air conditioner on in anticipation and then the outside temps are cooler, but they cooled the inside temps thinking it would be cooler outside (make sense?) And they can't wait until the service starts especially for air conditioning because it would take too long to cool down the room and people would be too warm. (or this is what they say) I'm like Sherry; I tend to take a sweater or some other wrap just in case. and here in California it can be warm in the afternoon and once the sun goes down and the marine air comes in, it will be cool so we just get used to carrying sweaters with us :)

hoping you and Sherry have a great Sunday!

Most Grocery Stores are to cold. When I come
out my toes are frozen. I agree Churches
and resturants are cold. I don't like 100 degrees or Cold in the teens. I can tolerate
most places.

When my former employer asked us to participate in finding ways to keep costs down we all said, "Turn up the thermostat! There is no reason to keep it so cold. You are wasting electricity!" They didn't listen.

There is no place colder than the heart doctors room they put you in out at Bryan. I nearly froze. It is really cold here today. Joe would like a more tolerant body when it comes to cold. Glad to hear that the storms swirling over the south missed you all.

I have had many meals at restaurants ruined by the cold temperatures. I ask to not be seated under a vent but they are averywhere! Now I either don't go or make sure I take a sweater.

I must say, the weather just 'bites' sometimes. We complain about the cold, we complain about the heat, we turn the thermostat up, we turn the air and the fans on...and my feet are STILL cold, no matter what...maybe if the circulation was better?
Anyway, I love the heat in the summer, but not the humidity, I even don't mind the cold so much, but not the dampness. It goes right on through my aching bones.
Are the two pretty girls your GrandLoves? Beautiful, they are, whos ever GrandLoves they be.
