Saturday, I’m home alone

Very unusual around here, Jack Jr. has taken Sherry to the beauty shop for Reece to do her hair.  Jack will get his cut also.  We met at Bojangle’s for breakfast, where I got another quick lesson on the new phone, This is a smart phone, yeah, I know already, smarter than I am.

As far back as I can remember in Jobs, I was associated with electronics in some way.

The last real involvement was as an IBM Customer Engineer on EAM equipment. If you know EAM (Electronic Automated machines) That was the old Punched Card system with IBM. so I have a lot of baggage on ‘How things should work’.  It is like having bad habits and trying to correct them. Folks with NO ELECTRONIC back ground fit right in with the new technology, they just accept and go with it, without wondering how someone programmed this little thing to do all this stuff?

BUT I will learn, I am not as tenacious a Lucy, who gets herself in a mess, but can also get herself out.  I am speaking computer wise, She ain’t really in a mess with Joe, she is so fortunate to have married into royalty, to a wise and tender little man, who understands life, Air Conditioning and mechanics. Yeah, that is one lucky girl.

Now back to my mainest subject. Phones!  No we will never go back to the number please, and a good thing, because I could not hear ‘Operator Paula’ say, ‘number please?’

Good day here, gonna be hot but I am off to get this coach ready to roll. Check the oil, air in the tires, etc.

Thanks for coming by the log.

PS:

Why is it that people say they 'slept like a baby' when babies wake up like every two hours?

Soon you will wonder how you ever did without a smart phone.

I guess you could say you slept like a baby when you had no worries to be keeping you awake....Hope you stay cool in the heat. It's going to be over 100 here they say. I'm hoping to stay in and stay cool for the most part. We're invited to a reception for one of my nephews and his new wife this afternoon, but I'm thinking that since it is outside I'm not going to stay long at all. Keep cool!

I'd say you're already adjusting to your new phone...cause, you still haven't junked it. Sounds like a nice morning there, and here too. A cool front swept through, yellowing the evening sky til late, emptied a huge cloud of rain on us and today we are back in the 70's and lovin' it.
Have a great weekend...now, where ya headed off to this time?

I would love to start my day off at a place called "Bojangles." The name itself shouts GOOD FOOD!

... off to weed the garden now that our heatwave has subsided :)

I hope you are staying out of trouble while home alone. We are getting rain here at Mom's. Hope it cools us down. Rick got caught in a downpour with hail coming home from work yesterday. Love from south Bama, Sheila

We sure have come a long way in technology. Glad you have someone near to help you out. Bet you can figure out a lot of it though. I think the AT&T store clerks hate to see John and I coming in the door.

the thing I love best about my cell phone...that I can carry it almost anywhere in the USA and make calls and receive calls! the downside...I have to remember to keep it charged which can be a bummer if the electricity is down because of a hurricane...but that would be true of a land line also!

how exciting getting ready to travel!

That's great Sherry is getting her hair done before you guys head out of town. I bet you got a lot done Jack when you were home alone, I just hope it was all good things that had to get done and not causing any kind of trouble (not that you would, LOL). Good to hear you are grasping a bit with the phone and what it has to offer in the way of services. I know years ago when we went on a field trip to the phone company, I wanted to be an operator so bad, now I'm glad I didn't because I'm sure that too in time will be obsolete.

You could make a movie like the one
Home Alone.

I know Sherry is glad to get her
hair cut. Well getting closer for
you to start singing "ON THE ROAD
AGAIN"

Jack leave Lucy alone.

The Alvis is one of many British makes that bit the dust in the wake of the Depression, WWII and the Socialist (Labour) takeover of the government in 1945...
