Hypnotist

Guys hypnotised in school. Students answering their shoes when they hear a phone ring.

DAvid Knight famous UK hypnotist.

Have you ever been hypnotized? I never have. I have always sorta doubted the authenticity of the hypnotist. I just don’t think a guy could make me cackle like I was laying an egg or plant a thought for a reflex in my mind that after I came out of the ‘what ever’ that I would, let’s say,’raise my right arm ‘ when he said a certain word such as, ‘chair’.

That all may be legitimate, but it seems too much like hookas pookus to me; of course, I m not sure enough to let somebody try, so he could make a fool out of me. Hahahahaha!

I know there are folks hypnotizing smokers to help them kick the habit. Now contrary to what many folks think, not everyone wants to quit smoking. I did, of course I quit a hundred times, before I finally actually did it. Smoking is a VERY HARD habit to quit and if a smoker really wants to quit and the hypnotist can help, I would say, ‘Go for it!’
I have had, and still have a lot of habits but the most enjoyable habit I ever had was smoking. Smoking in a way is a lot like eating too much. The best time to quit smoking is right after you finish one with a cup of coffee. The best time to plan a diet is after a big meal. BOTH are silly, but that is when we all seem to make the BIG decisions.

I have a friend who lost 150 lbs. I know a guy I talk to on the internet who has now lost close to 200 pounds. Now these guys deserve a medal, especially if they keep most of it off. I am not big, but I need to lose 6-10 lbs. Now doesn’t it seem logical if I have friends who can lose more than I weigh that I could lose 10 silly pounds? What is wrong with me? Hahahahahaha PLEASE , THAT is rhetorical, doesn’t need an answer, I know it. I just won’t do it.

Okay I quit drinking ( mostly).
I quit cussing ( I still say sh--).
I quit smoking (I still like to smell a good pipe tobacco, and do not mind sitting in the smoking section)
I quit running around (that one was easy, Sherry never allowed me to start)
I quit speeding (honest).
I know, you wonder what I do for fun. Hahahahahahahahaha that one is easy….. but we ain’t discussing that!
I quit a lot of things, but I cannot quit snacking.

Brother you are to funny. I gained 5 lbs over the holidays. You would think I could get that off. Moved my treadmill back in and all I do is look at it and get a guilt trip when I pass it. I do love to snack. I am on my way to the
Kitchen to finds some snacks.

I'm with you on this one Jack. I think hypnotist are a bunch of hocus pocus. I've always thought I could never be hypnotized. Maybe it takes believing in it for it to happen, you think?

I would never get hypnotized but I've been to hypnosis shows and it looks so real with what they have the participants do (and funny too)

I also hear people get hypnotized to lose weight....

I think sometimes it is harder to use 6-10 pounds than 100. You would be healthier without those 6-10 pounds but they are manageable, know what I mean? when you are significantly overweight, that's when all the health problems come on and I think that motivates a lot of people to stick to a diet

GOOD QUESTION JACK, WHY DO WE STILL HAVE APES ?
I AM SOLD ON THE CREATION SIDE.
I BELIEVE THAT PEOPLE SUCH AS THOMAS EDISON, SAMUEL F.B. MORSE, HOWE, BILL GATES AND OTHERS CREATED THEIR INVENTIONS THROUGH THE POWER OF GOD.

I CANNOT BUT WONDER WHY SUCH A LONG WAIT FROM THE TIME THAT JESUS WALKED THE EARTH UNTIL THE RECENT CENTURIES THAT INVENTIONS HAVE BEGAN TO MULTIPLY AND SO RAPIDLY THE PAST FEW YEARS.

I WAS IMPRESSED WITH HOW THE SEWING MACHINE NEEDLE WAS INVENTED WITH HELP OF A DREAM.
FINALLY GIVING UP, NO WAY TO BUILD A MACHINE TO PULL A THREADED NEEDLE THROUGH AND TURN AND GO BACK THROUGH PROPERLY, JUST COULD NOT BE DID.
THEN A DREAM CAME. IN A JUNGLE SETTING THE CANNIBAL HEAD HUNTERS HAD HIM PREPARED FOR THE HUGE BOILING POT, STEAM BEGINNING TO RISE FROM THE POT, EYES ALERT FOR ANY OPPORTUNITY AND NOTICED THAT EACH SPEAR HELD BY THE HEAD HUNTER HAD A HOLE NEAR THE POINT OF THE SPEAR. THAT IS THE ANSWER TO MY PROBLEM OF THE SEWING MACHINE NEEDLE AND TOO LATE NOW.

HOWEVER HE AWOKE FROM THE NIGHTMARE AND PERFECTED THE SEWING MACHINE OF COURSE WITH THE FOOT TREADLE. THE ELECTRIC MOTOR COULD COME LATER. CHECK LUKE CHAPTER ONE, VERSE 37. sam

I think my Hubby was a little sad when he had to quit smoking. He tried a few times, over the year, cutting down to a few a day, but never quit all the way. Until he had too.
Shirl, if you don't cook in your kitchen, might as well store your snacks in there...ha.
Take care, Sheila
ps. got to get up and dance, another chance for snow a comin'... :D

To be honest I'd like to try getting hypnotist one day.
With regard to quiting, guess that it should be mostly on spending too much money on books. Hardly a week without some new pages.
Can't await until Stefan starts to read, which would be a nice new chance to go out and get some new books again ;)
A wonderful Wednesday for you two.

I've never put much stock in hypnotism. I don't want to let anyone or anything take over what is left of my mind. (Except for God, that is.) The devil tries to do that all along. Ha. All my snacks keep me from losing that 20 pounds that I want to lose. However I think I could lose it if I got serious enough. I'm sure my body metabolism has changed in the last 15 years, partly because of my lifestyle. Believe it or not, I too love the smell of some pipe tobacco's - when others do the smoking. Paradoxically, It's difficult for me to sit in the smoking section where cigarettes are being smoked. However, it may be that the pipe smoke takes my mind back to childhood, when, sitting around the camp-fires in Gulf Hammock I would listen to my relatives telling their hunting and fishing tales, smoking cherry flavored Prince Albert and rum-flavored Tampa Nugget cigars. BTW - I love your thought provoking blogs!
