Throwaway

To open, I have had trouble staying on the net. Each comment has taken over fifteen minutes. Then none of my pictures uploaded. so here goes nothing......

WE have become a throwaway society. Rain mentioned the printers we have. Yeah I know that is true about the cost of cartridges and printers. Sherry and I were in line to pay for two cartridges and passed a printer with more features than ours and it was ten dollars more than the cartridges I was carrying. So we bought a new printer.

I just now looked across the table at one of our cell phones charging. WE don’t even use a cell phone long enough to need a new battery anymore, and no one wants the old ones.

We have to be careful or people become throw away items. I am not talking about the old and infirm only. I have a different philosophy than most my family and friends concerning ME in that position.
But I am not talking the aged; I am talking the druggie kids, the prostituting drug using mamas and the dealers and heavy drug users. If I am not careful I want to put them all in prison or on death row. Like everyone else I think seriously about doing that (unless my family is involved, then we should make an exception).

If I am not careful, I would suggest using the death penalty more often than it should be. I get upset about ‘home invaders’ or burglars. They know that stuff is not theirs; they have no right to it what so ever. They did not earn the money to buy the TV sets and jewelry they are stealing, if I am not careful I’ll want those shot!

I don’t think society should keep them up forever, in and out of prison. I believe every prison should be forced to raise their vegetables, meat, milk and cheese. Every prisoner should work or not eat. Yeah I know it ain’t fair, but that is how I feel about it. If we are going to support a criminal, they should be forced to work on the roads, clean up the right of way and cut grass. No work, no eat. If they get weak feed them through their veins until they decide to work.

Don’t get me wrong. Prison is sort of like divorce. Everyone seems to be touched by them. Thirty to sixty years ago not every family was affected, but today? Most all our families have had someone in jail, prison and we all have been affected by divorce. So I know it affects us all. I know without a doubt there are folks in prison who should not be there, but by and large they were justly convicted. Just my opinion.

A man I dearly loved spent most of his life behind bars. He was an artist and a master brick mason. He just could not stay off booze and drugs. He died early, I still miss him and his wonderful brother.

Thanks for coming this way,
Nite Shipslog

I agree I just can't understand why they make is so easy for prisoners. However I'm not as pollyanna as I used to be. I know bad things can happen to good people sometime.

I think people need to be accountable for their actions and take their punishment should they break the law. I also think they should be put to work inside the prison growing food whatever. Hours without being productive is so self defeating, in my opinion. I also think they need to prepare inmates who are going to be released and hook them up with mentors or other people willing to help them learn how to assimilate back in the general population. That's why I admire the work Chuck Colson does with Prison Fellowship.

hoping your Internet service improves

Jack, I do not envy anyone in prison who seems to be living off the state, watching TV and having lots of spare time to read. Our prisons, as good as they can be, are still lock-ups where one has no freedom of movement. Even if they have everything plush, they are locked in and cannot get out when they want out. I believe "No Work, No Eat" is Biblical. God said in Genesis 3:19, "In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return." Paul said in 2 Thes. 3:10 "For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat." Shucks - I'd better stop or I'll soon be running the parson's saw. Didn't mean to preach!

One of the most truth-filled entries I've read in a very long time.

Please have you all a nice weekend.

Jack, I follow your thoughts and frustrations for I so agree. No work, no eat. But what really gets my goat, is all these druggies out there that are so badly influencing their children in their homes every day with their filthy, harmful habits, nasty talk amongst the babes. My grandson is with me this weekend, he is only 6, and the first words out of his mouth were how he hates that his mom smokes all the time and fights with her boyfriend. He says, Grandma, Why can't they just go away. I hate that. They break the laws. I hate them. Now, how sad is that. Tho my son is doing all he can to change things for him, who makes it more difficult,?...the system...sorry,...I never thought that as a Christian, I would hope that they throw them in jail and throw away the keys to save my Grandson...I guess I'm selfish but I hate to see him suffer because of his mothers selfishness...who knows, maybe with her court day coming up, God will intervene...God have mercy.
Bless You Jack and thanks for the listen
