Here Glenda is telling Shirley how it felt as an eighth grader to have her hair fixed so pretty for graduation. (Shirley had fixed her hair that time!)
Sherry and I are on what is probably our last trip across country. We have never taken a bad trip, just some more memorable than others. This one has started out to be one that will rate at the top of the list. We have been gone nearly 45 days and driven over 3500 miles. Normally on our trips it is the places that over shadow people. This time more than ever People have out shown places. Every trip encounters loved friends and family, it is that this one, so far, has centered more folk, than geography.
Below is Glenda, after driving about 1400 miles in the last two days.
Don’t get me wrong, the Tennessee Mts. are great, but seeing Jack Darnell, his brother, then George Coleman and his wife and of course Fred , Frances and family was better. I even met an old retired navy chief while there.
Then Detroit’s history and location is famous, BUT we saw Johnny and got to meet his daughter Candice. That was a treat. There we also met another man from a forum I participate in.

The Soo Locks, Mackinac Island, Lake Huron, Lake Michigan, Lake Superior, and the wooded areas of Upper Michigan and Wisconsin do not compare to Dar & Mel’s crews up there. Slim & Bill were more entertaining than the House on the Rock.
Seeing the Conrad’s in Missouri over shadowed the beautiful rolling hills of North Central Missouri. Seeing and meeting friends we have only talked to on a forum was neat here in St. Joe. Of course I asked Gerald today if he knew Jesse James, without hesitating he said no, but he was hoping one day to dig up some of his treasure in his yard. We were fortunate to meet the pastor of a church in the small town of Savannah, MO. He, his wife and son were a pleasure to meet.
We also met John & Doris’s Grand Daughter, Kari, who I also met on the same forum.

So continuing to talk to folks on Blogs and Forums, and driving across this great country makes this life just GREAT! So from the road, I will say thanks for reading this stuff, I know your time is valuable.

As he gathered equipment, his K-9 partner, Jake, was barking, and he saw a little boy staring in at him. 'Is that a dog you got back there?' he asked. 'It sure is,' Woody replied. Puzzled, the boy looked at Woody and then towards the back of the van. Finally he said, 'What'd he do?'

I couldn't agree more Jack. People over places everytime! And we people who are stationary in our places always love it when great people like you and Sherry visit with us and wake us from the doldrums with the likes of "Smucker's p'nr burrr!" I've tried to tell it a few times but it's rough to translate it into Kiswahili. Can you imagine? ☻☻☻
It has been such a PLEASURE getting to know you two traveling lovebirds ~ first through the blog and then in person. We DO LIVE IN A WONDERFUL COUNTRY WITH SOME VERY WONDERFUL PEOPLE IN IT!! Now that the wedding is behind us maybe one of these days I'll get to sit down and get my nose into a book or two. STICKY is waiting on me.
How nice to see that the world seems to fit into two hands again. And yes, it's a wonderful invention of humankind to create a geography of life and its content. Wishing you a good Friday and safe road ahead.

meeting your new ones. You don't have to tell
me how long you have been gone. It seems like
a year. We all miss you. I know you and Sherry

To me it is always about the people. Yes there are some lovely sights out there but you have the best of both, the people and the sights. It can't get much better than that!
And it's so nice to be able to leave while the bloom is still on the bloom of a new, or renewed, relationship. All honeymoon, no marriage.
I wish life had not made our meeting memorable, to me at least since I did not get to see you and meet you and Sherry. It was something I was hoping would happen but again life got in the way. I am just so happy that it worked out for you both.
Glad you had a nice time... and that last part about the little boy and the dog was just too cute!
