Auto of the day:
The 1941 4dr Chevy family car, is the first car I remember .
For today:
How do you
feel about assisted living, Old folks homes, care giving or spending your last
days at home? Sherry & I have told
our sons, when we cannot care for ourselves find us a good assisted living
place and visit when you can, BUT live your lives….
Feeling sorry for
myself I guess, I looked back over many Blogs I
have followed. This is from a retired
Grey Hound driver. This is a copy of his
last entry before passing, Feb 2009. He
was over 88 yrs old. May he be at Peace now…

THANK YOU DEAR LORD FOR BEING WITH ME 24/7.
LYING THERE ON THE FLOOR, THINKING, AM I DREAMING ?
HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN? YES IT CAN AND DID.
IT WAS OCTOBER 2003.
BIG SHOCK WHEN LEARNED I COULD NOT WALK.
COULD NOT MOVE LEFT HAND OR FOOT.
THERAPISTS GOT ME TO MOVING. THEY SEEMED MEAN.
THEY ARE THERE TO HELP. TRY TO CO-OPERATE.
NOW, 1ST FEBRUARY, LIMITED WALKING WITH 'WALKER'.
DOCTOR'S EXAM SAID I AM
ALIVE.
TWO DAUGHTERS LIVING HERE IN CANON CITY OVERCAME OPPOSITION FOR 'CARE CENTER'
TO KEEP ME PERMANENTLY, NATURALLY WITH AN EYE ON MY INCOME WHICH WOULD NEED MY
SIGNATURE.
DAUGHTERS RESEARCHED THE MEDICINES GIVEN ME, SOME QUESTIONABLE, FOR MENTALLY
INCOMPETENT.
PLEASE UNDERSTAND, NOT KNOCKING CARE GIVERS, HOWEVER, WITH THE HELP OF A DOCTOR
FRIEND, HAD ME RETURNED HOME FROM THE CARE CENTER WHERE I HAVE LIVED NEAR 7
YEARS WITH ELDERLY FRIENDS IN MY PRIVATE APARTMENT AND USING THIS COMPUTER AND
CAMERAS,THRU THE WINDOW, COMMUNICATING WITH FRIENDS BY E-MAIL AND BLOGS.
I remember missing his entries. He was older
than I, but I was proud that he could write a blog even after the stroke.
Some people
have someone close that can inform the internet friends of our passing. I
remember a couple, but mostly we must guess or just wonder what has happened?

PS:
I Normally write tomorrow’s blog today and have it ready to
post. Maybe I will write my final one and make a note for Sherry or a son to
post it with a note "Jack has left the building."
He was a retired teacher, he posted from a 'Nursing home' and I cannot remember his blog name...

Food for thought, indeed. Tom is pretty much in denial, but I've found myself weighing what (affordable) options exist. My DIL says, "You'll never go to a nursing home!" But I've a rabid fear of interrupting loved ones' lives, no matter how great their intentions.
I like the idea of writing a final post and giving it to my son to post "in the event." In many cases, if a blogger just disappears, his/her readers have no idea what's happened.
Thoughtful post.
I've just posted a Review of the Appalachian Trail on AMAZON UK.
God bless.
Funny thought but clever.

Was it ‘Dribbles by Chuck’ you’re thinking of? I’m a little behind. ❤️ Sheila
