I am getting another Implant

We had a great trip.  We spent the night in a motel.  Something we seldom do, most times we take out bed with us.

(Pictures today of animals I like)
Anyway ladies must be proving themselves the sure handed steady nerved folk, every doctor I talked to  was female.  I am not sure if you have taken a hearing test, but they un-nerve me. I am sure many of you have taken an eye test (exam) where the lenses are flashed up and the 'testing person' asks, how it that? now is this better or worse, what about this one, this one etc.  I get confused because there is so little difference.  I get nervous and just pick one and hope for the best.

The hearing tests are a little different, but still will wrack your nerves.  Anyway Dr. Jennifer R. made some great adjustments to my present implant, and after Sherry and I waited a few minutes in the waiting area came out and said, YES! You  qualify for the second implant.

So we went down to talk to another lady who is part of the surgical team. The same Dr. (the little sweet girl who will be olde enough for her driver's license this year) that successfully implanted what I have, will come over from Duke University Hospital and do the implant.  I am glad because she did do a great job on this one.

If the second one is half as good as the first, I will be one happy guy.  These still will not do great in a crowd but in normal conversations it already is a miracle.
ALL animals grow up and old, even Human ones.

So the trip was a great success.  It is good to be back to a keyboard. Us old folk, who remember typewriters, find it hard to hit those little letters and numbers on the screen of the Kindle Fire.  But I was able to read your blogs.

So happy you are going to get the second one and hope it will be as good as good as the first one. Seems like it will all work out better with two.

This is great news!!!! Glad you shared some good news to start the day.
Im thinking the hardest part of the trip was not taking your own bed with you this time.

With two, you will be in Stereo. :)

That is great news! Those doctors do seem to get younger and younger. I love that old tree at the Alamo too. I had one pic of it by itself. I like a tree with character. :) Take care, Sheila

Wonderful news about the 2nd implant!! And that is great too how this one is helping with close conversations! I know you are delighted to hear the voices of those you love and be able to communicate with them :) There is not too many specialties that women haven't ventured into with being doctors; its nice to see that. I think I told you of the cardiac surgeon female doctor 35 years ago I worked for. She wasn't much accepted by the "old" doctors; one doctor even wanted her to wear a sign on her back that said "I'm not a nurse." I admired her willingness to get into a field at the time that was predominantly male dominated.

Happy your trip was successful and that you're on your way to improved hearing. Love the animal photos...sometimes I think animals are more "human" (humane) than humans are :)

I'm so glad that you past the test. I do know about those hearing test.(smile) We had to take one once a year when I was still working not sure if it's the same as the one you had to take, but I did go to Birmingham once to check to see if I needed a hearing aide and that was the same test. Yes he said I could use one but never did get it. I hear more around here now then I would like. Ha, Take care and stay warm. Jean I'm so glad that you past the test. That's good news about the second implant. The downside is that now you won't be able to use the excuse of, Sorry Hon, I didn't hear you when you told me to take out the trash:)

Congratulations, Jack!
Having just had my annual vision test, I agree -- the differences in the lens are often subtle and confusing.

That image of the spaniel feeding the lamb its bottle just made my day!
