A picture from the Past.
For Today:
We are now settled in the Eustis
area of Florida. Eustis is about 30
miles north of Orlando. Damage here was
minimum. We were able to get a 3 week reservation, but so far that is all. In an emergency we can stay in son Mark’s
driveway.
Life is very confusing to
an old man. I think I have about 300 secret passwords now. Something on an update wiped out all my sites
along with pass words. Shucks, I might
have caused it my own self. Example:
every time someone hands me their phone and says, “Look at this!” what they
were going to show me mysteriously just heads for the moon, I guess. LOL
I want to ask Victor if
they have bad storms in the UK, such as our hurricanes? The reason I asked I ‘think’ I read about a
bad storm headed for the northern area of the UK.
I do know that the North
Atlantic is one rough ocean. Many years ago,
my ship, an aircraft carrier, was dwarfed by some giant seas. The waves seemed
to be 50-70 feet. They came over our bow and it stood at about 50-60 ft.
Anyway, now that we are in
Florida, they have found a few more baby hurricanes down in the Caribbean and
over off the African shore headed this way. We will stick around to see what direction
they fly.
Hope all of you are doing
well. I hope I can get back in line and catch up.
Missed the blogging, but I was
afraid I would get used to it and head for FB. ;-)

Hi Jack and Sherry! I'm glad you are OK and have a safe haven for now. Hopefully something else will open up for you to stay. My brother in Fort Myers weathered the storm and had only one tree go down so that's good. We may try and go see him around February. Watch out for those storms and be safe!
Jack, Stay alert and be safe. It's been a horrifying storm season. I fear some places will never be able to recover. Keeping all in my prayers. xoxo, Susie
Well maybe they will get some more openings and let you stay longer. That cute little girl looks Italian with your boys - right?
Sorry you lost your passwords - but they are dangerous to have on your computer. I have a little book right next to my desk with my passwords and there is a lot. Get an address book and write them in there.
I guess I need to check the weather. Glad things weren’t bad there. Hopefully something will open up so you can stay. Take care, Sheila ❤️
I read your stuff and others too. I read a lot from my iphone but can not comment from it unless I want to be anonymous and thats not fun. I am on my ipad now so I can comment as me. I am thinking about getting me a laptop computer for blogging. My ipad does fine but it will easily “Loose stuff” like you mentioned. It’s not very blogger friendly. Thats also why I am so slack on my blogging.
I keep my passwords in the “Notes” app of my iphone.
Hope yall stay safe from the hurricane's.
Lisa
I'm always glad to see a post from you. I'm glad you made it to Florida and there isn't much damage. My son in Ft Myers didn't have any damage there either. Hurricanes can get crazy scary. I hope you can stay in the warmer area for much of the cold winter season that is coming to the north. It's a little scary there too with snow and Ice. I'm about to find out what it's like in Texas. So far it still feels like summer for the most part. It has only gotten cool in the early mornings or late evenings. We are suppose to be in the 90's through the coming week. I am enjoying the summer weather while it lasts !
How good it feels to 'see' you back online Jack (and Sherry)!
That's such a pain, losing your passwords! For security purposes I keep an Excel spreadsheet online that's password protected. (Only one to remember!)
I'm interested in hearing what Victor has to say about their weather patterns. I was only 7 years old but can still recall in detail our return voyage (from Southhampton to NYC) across the North Atlantic. I don't think passenger ships had stabilizers in those days, and oh, how she (Queen Mary) rocked and rolled in the waves. The crew had ropes strung everywhere for people to hang onto and many people -- my mother included -- took to their berths. Silly me, I loved the whole thing. (lol)
Glad your safe and found a place have a place to stay in FL.
I still have my Apple desk top computer and do all my blogging and reading on it. Like the nice big screen.
Glad to hear you are well, Jack and Sherry. We've had some storms over here but not as bad as in the USA. Been praying for you and for all affected by the storms. It is getting very cold here in the evenings. Quite a bit of rain at times but again, thankfully, not much flooding as happened before. Even when it's sunny, like today, it is cold.
Take care my friends. God bless you all.
