Monday, yep, the first of the week, still a cheap skate

 Picture of the day!

BUT for now:

I have said it, and it is true I am a cheap skate. I seldom pay to get things done that I can do myself. I very seldom use a car wash or a lawn service. I do not ‘manicure’ the lawn and as a rule SELDOM ‘detail’ our car. (I did today, ouch)

Today, yes today, I had a great idea for a blog entry, SORRY, but I forgot it.  LOL

I was once working on a house and a kid said he would cut the grass for $10, he said he needed money for baby diapers. Normal cost for that lawn would have been $5. I gave him a short lecture about cloth diapers and washing diapers, but then I let him cut the grass.

An hour of so later the police drove up to the house. And asked did the kid cut my grass and asked if I noticed the mower. Simply by accident, I did remember the mower. The cop told me the kid had just stolen the mower They finally arrested the kid and he didn’t even have a baby in diapers, so my money and lecture on diapers was wasted. Turns out the same kid had been the one breaking into that house and stealing my tools.  OUCH

I do remember hearing “No good deed goes unpunished!”   NOW: About my recent stump  gift.  I hope Joe and Jimmy have the best of luck, and YES I do appreciate the good deed of stump grinding.

Y’all have a good week and ‘don’t take any wooden nickels,’ another old saying I remember from my past life.

PS.  No matter what else happens, I will enjoy tomato sandwiches until the vines are empty.

Why what a little con artist! I'm glad you didn't give him more. Remembering my experiences of cloth diapers and a stinky diaper pail, I'm afraid your lecture would have fallen on deaf ears. (lol)

Many times Jack will do something to help a person only to find out it was a fake need. Oh well he says, "I do the good deed so the sin is on that person." A good attitude for doing a good deed daily!

It's getting to the point where you can no longer trust anyone. How sad. Life is getting difficult, I find.

God bless, Jack.

Hard to know who to trust.
I've never taken a car to a car wash. We always wash our own. I enjoy it but haven't to be in the right mood. :)

I'm a poor judge of people and really try not to judge anyone. I leave that up to the good Lord, he knows people much better than I do. I'm glad the fellow got caught, his punishment she be washing cloth diapers. I used them for all my kids. Their tender skin didn't like the boxed ones.I did try them out, but the diaper rash the kids got wasn't worth it. I suppose it saved me lots of money, but it wasn't the easiest job in town.
